Invisible Monsters Movie: Fan Concept Art

Let me re-iterate our news headline here: Fan concept art. Albeit, a very talented graphic designer of a fan named Xander Davis. But nonetheless, this is unofficial concept art. Still, it gets the juices flowing, eh?

With 'Choke' finished and hitting theaters on September 26th, the rumor mill is sure to start spinning again. This could mean a jumpstart to some stalled Palahniuk projects, such as Invisible Monsters.

So let us imagine for a second, what a teaser poster for this insane story Chuck created, would look like.

I believe it started in 2001, when a young filmmaker named Jesse Peyronel optioned what many of Chuck's die-hard fans would call his boldest and best book: Invisible Monsters. Movie media quickly picked up on the option and it seemed like things were on the fast track for entering some sort of production phase. Turning over a scripted draft that both Chuck and his agent, Edward Hibbert, were very pleased with, Jesse very quickly got to work trying to find funding for the film via Miramax Films. Parker Posey was tentatively on board to play Shannon and things were moving along. read more »

Invisible Monsters Movie Announced?

This may be nothing, but Invisible Monsters popped up on the IMDB last week here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756666/. This project has long been in development with newcomer Jesse Peyronel behind the helm as writer and director. Jesse had a lot of success with a short film before impressing Chuck Palahniuk and his agent with his screenplay adaptation of Invisible Monsters. In fact, Chuck was so impressed that he fully endorsed Jesse's optioning of the project for one year to try and raise the money for it. It was during this year that all the rumors started. The one that stuck the most was that Jessica Biel would be starring as Shannon. Then Parker Posey's name began popping up too. And pretty soon, even Miramax Films had entered the mix. But when the year was up, and the option ran out, it seemed Monsters was no closer to a greenlight.
