Serbian 'Rant' & 'Invisible Monsters' Covers Are Modern Art

European countries continue to impress with their approach to designing Chuck Palahniuk covers. Rather than taking a literal approach to the work, they tend towards the abstract. Their covers are more like modern pop culture art than spoon-fed designs. A few years ago I celebrated the Czech Republic's covers for their boldness...

Now Serbia deserves a place on that mantle. Check out their new cover for Rant, as well as their cover for Invisible Monsters:

The company behind this is FESTINA LENTE and they didn't stop there. They also shot this strange short teaser for their Rant release as well as a gallery of fans reading the books.

First thing's first: No, these are not for sale. Secondly: Why the hell not!? If Nike can pimp Marty McFly's kicks, why shouldn't they be able to flaunt some Brandy Alexander leather?

Here's what our talented designer, 'Shane' (the Dez!gner online), had to say about his creation:

I do custom footwear and recently did a pair of Invisible Monster Womens. Nike Air 6.0 Canvas shoes. I uploaded a photo on Facebook and tagged it onto Chucks page. I'd be proud to have it on your fan submission site. I have no intention of selling this pair for money as it is not my original art.

Fan Artwork: 'Invisible Monsters' Book Cover

Check out this awesome book cover for Invisible Monsters designed by Elyse Boutall. This was part of an art project where Elyse had to read the book and then create a book cover illustration for it. See a high res version of Elyse' design here. And check out more of her work on her official site.

I have a soft spot for fan submitted artwork. In the early days of The Cult, the largest section we hosted on the site was the Fan Submissions section. It was loaded to the core with banners, portraits, wallpapers, and my favorite... book covers & dust jackets.
