Any suggestions for a new record player?
Hello Culties! I'm in the market for a new record player and need some assistance from you all who are the fans of vinyl and know more about record players than I do. The one I have now I have had for many years, it was handed down to me from my Dad and it's from sometime in the 1980's. Unfortunately it's finally reaching it's last leg
I have some money to burn so I don't mind if it's expensive (just as long as it sounds good and lasts a long time). I listen to vinyl pretty much every day so I need something reliable...my problem is that I've looked at some on amazon, sweetwater, ebay, etc and I can't really decide what is good and what isn't? So...with that said...any suggestions?! Thank you
Moon The Loon
24th April 1968, Enjoying a wild birthday party Keith Moon drummer with The Who drove his Lincoln car into a Holiday Inn swimming pool. As the party had become out of control, the police were called to put an end to the festivities. Moon, ever keen to avoid the boys in blue snuck outside and got into a Lincoln Continental Limousine and attempted to make a getaway. Unfortunately, in his inebriated state he released the handbrake, and began rolling towards the pool. Moon simply sat back and waited, as the car crashed through the fence around the pool and into the water.

Scott Walker
So I came across this fellow through an excellent documentary called "30th Century Man" on netflix. I finally got a chance to check it out the other day and I was totally blown away/ inspired after watching it. I'm very upset that I had never crossed paths with his music before, but better late than never I suppose. I can't lie, I have watched the film about 4 times now and I'm totally mesmerized/ hooked. A buddy of mine let me borrow the Scott Walker/The Walkers collection and it's pretty much all I've been listening to. The transformation of this artist is extremely extraordinary and mysterious. He starts off his career with early 60's pop songs with a teen idol sort of charm then to a drastic change to becoming the artist he wants to be, then to his exile and into his current days of experimental/Gothic/eerie/expressionistic music...Now that I think about it I don't even know if it's a genre that can describes what he does? I'll put the link up for the trailer under this. read more »
Christina Hendricks finally fulfills the wishes of everyone ever (NSFW)
Today I was told that Christina Hendricks' phone was stolen and nude pictures of her were released. Though only one is actually of her naked, it's still more than enough.
I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware that this happened, because I know a bunch of you love her as much as I do.
Favorite Mini-Series
That is what they're called right...
Stephen Graham Jones posted about Harper's Island a few days ago on his facebook page. I loved that show. Then I started thinking, I really like mini-series in general.
I really liked:
- Point Pleasant
- The Lost Room
- Tin Man
- The Kennedys
- Generation Kill
Some I'm wondering about:
- Fallen
- House of Saddam
- 5ive Days to Midnight
- The Triangle
- Band of Brothers
- V
I feel like I'm forgetting some that I liked. I know that I used to watch them quite a bit a couple years ago. I'm sure I'll add to this more later.
What are some of your favorites? And which ones do you recommend?
