Nick Hornby
Here's another case where if you've only seen the movies, you don't know the writing. Hornby touches on a lot of Chuck's themes, mostly the "What it means to be a guy these days" themes, as well as the, "How the hell should we deal with the people we love" themes. Both these are close kind to the, "Women are just frigging hard to understand" theme, which permeates pretty much all of Hornby's work. He's always fun; another writer from across the ocean that's somewhat similar to Douglas Coupland, at least in terms of the ultimate theme, "How to get the hell on with your life, and give up your past hang-ups."
