i think i want to be a part of this.

Is it done by Cacophony Societies? I think so. It's in Portland, I know that. My friends went to the ice rink that they go to every year to summon Tonya Harding. Did you read Fugitives and Refugees? There's a Postcard from 1996 about it in there. It's definatly a Cacophony Society thing. I want a CS in Wyoming! Too closed minded here. The closest one is Denver, and that one probably sucks.

i need to do a search for cacaphony society. i did read the book. thats where i learned of this.

in PC from 1996, they're in portland but don't they change its location every year?

i looked a little online yesterday, and found some people on a yahoo group doing one in texas this year....i need to find out more because i don't want to travel across the country for 9 jackoffs hanging in a bar wearing fake beards...i'm looking for cultural phenomenon.

Sounds like fun! I wish I could get involved. It might change locals every once in a while. I was sort of under the impression that it was a portland thing. Like, every society's ideals are the same, but they do different things. Maybe it does change places. Check it out, and post back here if you find out more. Is there an age limit on the CS? I suppose, since they booze up all the time....

There is some affiliate of the[URL=http://cacophony.org/lodges.html] Cacaphony Society here in SF[/URL].
They do the Santa thing and the Salmon Run for bay to breakers.
[URL=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_to_Breakers]Bay to Breakers[/URL] is a marathon that starts on the Bay side of SF to the Ocean side.

The Salmon Runners go the opposite direction as the marathon-ers - dressed as salmon.

There also the "drunken red-headed sluts" who do a [URL=http://www.paulreubensday.com/]Paul Reubens Day[/URL]. Which is basically the same as the Santa Rampage. A bunch of people, dressed up like Pee-Wee Herman and other characters from the show/movie, run around getting hammered.

Start your own in your area based on some reviled/riduculous/renegade. Or move.

it actually came up tonight, over drinking, that i can't do the santa rampage that i've been goading everyone i talk to, to get into...because hopefully(unfortuanetly) i'll be in the ny state trooper academy....but i guess it'll be nice to make enough money to be able to move out of my moms house..
