Why not order it from amazon.com? They're really good for getting Hardback editions of Chuck's books. Or try Abebooks for First Editions and signed copies - haven't we had this conversation already? They both deliver to the UK. Otherwise, I'm led to believe you'll have to wait until March 4th for it's paperback UK release.

I was quite lucky with that book. Chuck sent me one signed after writing to him. Sorry, that sounded so inconsiderate....

Thanks for the book info, I'll check them out once I've got through Penny Dreadful, Jesus son, Ham on Rye, Fugitives and Refugees, and probably about another five I've forgot. Regards to the avatar. If you go into Profile - Edit Options, at the bottom of the page should be a button that says Change Avatar. Click on this, make sure Avatar is on, and then browse your system for whatever picture you've decided best suits you. If you need anymore info, let me know.

CP.net doesn't have existing avatars. You have to provide your own. Since you dont have any pictures at work, do a google image search for a picture (it cant be larger than 80 x 80) and link that pic. Or just use a friend's comp or something.

Finish with her and pronto. You cannot base a long lasting and loving partnership on just choice. You're the man, you decide. She probably like Naked Gun I bet?

Only joking. But Scary Movie 3...?

I never thought of her as dumb, but tell me that What Dreams May Come isn't that film starring Robin Williams? That was a really bad film... When I say bad, I mean crap... When I say crap, I mean I'd rather shove hot pokers up a bulls ass, cover myself in red paint and stick us both in a mini metro with Aqua playing "Barbie Girl" than have to shit through that melancoly bullshit again. What the fuck! Was he dead or not, was she seeing him or not, was this the worst film in the entire history of worst films? It's close.

Sorry, I flipped out there for a while.

It's nice to hear about couples going the distance though. Provides me with a warm feeling.

As for Paxton playing Chuck? Can anyone really play Chuck? Other than maybe Chuck himself, but even then, I don't think he could pull it off.

:)

he died and was trying to rescue her from hell. she went there because she sinned (suicide)
my girlfriend likes the 'look' of the film. she didn't like fight club though.

she started reading 'lullaby' and didn't like it.
but she reads douglas copeland and elizabeth wurtzel and clive barker!?
she is an anomaly and i love her for it.

So is that the film with Robin Williams in or not? And I love the way you love your girlfriend. She's a lucky girl... I'm not gay, just an old romantic.

Sounds pretty good. Is it a novel, novella, or short? And why don't you submit an extract into the Writer's Workshop. You'll get some good advice if you need it.

it's going to be about 350 - 400 pages, i think.
i do have the original first two chapters on my works computer. but i'm in the process of typing it on my new pc at home. i dont have the internet at home yet, sould be sometime this week though.
i did manage, whilst transferring it, to change the original first page into five pages. i'm not that confident about my writing, i do it because i like it. it helps my brain break through the monotony of my working day.
talk tomorrow, i'm clocking out in five.:D

Same as me. Good luck with it. And does the amount of pages refer to A4 or what will be your average novel page?

a4 pages (one side of.) i'm trying to make it very different to 'the body' by stephen king.
it will involve a pit of snakes, two wolves and an old man following them deeper into the woods. i have a few ideas for other books too, just a pity i cant write for shit.

also try reading 'black valley' by james brown, its one hell of a book. so is his first novel 24/7.

Well, if your book is going to be 400 A4 pages, then I can safely say that it will be different to The Body, considering in the first place said book was a novella. Great story though. I'm not a keen King fan, but I love Different Seasons and The Green Mile.

Is this the first time you've written anything? And if so, why write a novel first? Only reason I'm asking is, I pretty much did the same.

Don't lose heart in it. Think of Andy Dufrane (never could get the spelling of his surname correct) from Shawshank, crawling through a mile of shit infested sewage pipe. It took him some time, but he got there in the end. No sweeter smell would ever be, without going through some crap.

As for James Brown. Never read anything of his. I thought he just sang (joke). 24/7: wasn't that made into a film with Bob Hoskins?

You sound pretty cool person INT. Good to talk to you.

james brown was a news reporter on american tv, then he published 24/7. what a book! a nasty take on these reality/survival tv shows. and yes it would make a good film(this comment for after you've read it.
i bought the 6ft under box set yesterday, as i missed it when it was on channel 4, class television.
another suggestion if you have(or know someone who has) a playstation2 get MANHUNT. its a snuff game, with a plot, and esteemed actor BRIAN COX stars as the bad guy in it. its a really sick puppy. happy hunting. also try Ring of Fire the johnny cash biography. a very good read.:)

Thanks. And it's not all all pronounced the way it's read is it?

I have mixed feelings about apocalypse now. Before I saw it, some years back now, everyone was saying how great it was, and that it's up there in the top three war movies ever made. So I'm like building it up big time, and when I finally got it out on video (video - shows you how long ago it was I actually watched this), I felt it dragged. It took another five viewings about a year apart to really get into it.

Then the fuckers released Redux, so I had to then get into all the deleted scenes, which stretched it out even more.

Conclusion: As a war movie, it was slow. As a character study, and look into the madness of war/male bravado and the darker more evil personas one can obtain with madness, then it was shit hot.

Read Conrad's Heart of Darkness for a much better explaination.

the version i've got on dvd has integrated all the deleted scenes so that the running time is 3hrs and fifteen minutes. i'm so tired you wouldn't beleive.
good news if you like nick cave, he has a dvd out in March of all his videos to date, and in April he's releasing all of his b-sides.
i'm beside myself:o
