Suicide Girls 'Fight Club' Photo Tribute
Posted April 28th, 2009 by Dennis
This may be old news for some of you, but SuicideGirls.com has recently posted a photo tribute to Fight Club. I think this has something to do with the site's anniversary or something. Be careful though. The following link is NSFW. You'll see lots of sweaty, tattooed breasts. So many in fact, that I even had a hard time finding an image I could crop (above) for this news post.
Now, onto the photo tribute... and the... ahem... breasts:

Best. Photos. Ever.
You do not have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.
.... and it's a fine one, at that!
(sincere apologies to C.S. Lewis)
"Strangers with this kind of honesty make me do a big rubbery one"
Win.
Fuck that. I like tits and tattoos as much as the next guy, but now these chicks totally highjack one of the most visceral commentaries on the SNAG backlash of the nineties. Have we learned nothing? But they get a free pass because they're our fantasy girlfriend, the coolest chick we ever knew. And all of a sudden we're right the fuck back where we started, wondering what the hell we're supposed to be doing next. Hating the job and thinking about Missy's photos of chicks we'll never know, who aren't particularly interested in anything about us. I submit to you that no chick out there really "gets" Fight Club. SGs is the best kind of pop culture--admirably disposable. I should get better not saying anything if it's not something nice.
"I'm thinking another woman is the last thing I need in my life."
I would like them to revisit this photoshoot in thirty years.
mmmmm, needs more fight club quotes...

It's a homage to the films 10 year anniversary as Fight Club is every good Suicide Girls favourite film.
Beware the SG
it really makes me sad to think it'll be ten years this october. I remember seeing the trailer in the theatre and thinking "thats stupid". Then the one day I decided to stay home from school and watch it when my brother got it on video..... I wish I could go back to that day. It was such a jaw dropper I watched it twice in a row....then with all the commentaries, which led me here.
they....uhhh....have a very nice...comforting name...
After thinking about this drivel for a little while let me say....
These photos look like art!
Sadly, that is what we've become. A generation of people who either make things that look like art or appreciate things that look like art.
Fight Club with women as the participants? Did the photographer read the book? Probably. Did he/she ever stop and think about the book? Obviously not. To me, "Fight Club" seems tacked on at the end. Technically the photographs are well done. Subjectively, they are flat(pun intended). Of course, some will jump in dismiss any criticism and say I am just threatened by women taking on roles previously exclusive to men. It's a built-in trap within works like these photographs. So, before that happens, let me say this. Go out, find a Richard Serra Spiral, and walk through it. When you come out, you will know more about yourself than when you went in. Can the same be said of yourself after looking at the photographs?
I think Ande put it exactly as I was going to.
Seems very contradictory.
the pics are hot and sweaty and all that, but mostly it seemed more about the sexy (and hell yeah they were) than the fighting. the fight scenes were staged sexy girly fights and pretty unrealistic and largely non-violent. they were well-photographed. just 4 photos stood out to me as visceral and semi-Fight Club authentic: 8, 10, 37, and 42.
also, every fucking thing ande1978 said is just fucking perfect - admirably disposable. you said it all.
Geez, a lot of folks seems pissed off at these pictures. It's just pictures! I think this was done more for fun than any be all end all of artistic statement.
Least they're free. I could understand all the venom if you had to pay for em.
It's weird to me how upset some people are about this. Women appropriating FC from men? Boo Hoo. I loved the book, I loved the movie. I think I "get it". It's really insulting to suggest that because I'm female, this book isn't for me.
The photo spread is a fun and sexy tribute.
i just would have liked them to really be whaling on each other. more blood, more punching. i was pretty pumped at the beginning to see some girl brutality,to see some girls do it up right, the lead-in to that was believable. as a female i would have liked it to be more authentic from a purely violent aspect, instead of the predictable almost-hitting breast-pressing what-boys-like type chick fighting. they're all sexy. they all have different body types and are incredibly brave and did a nice photo shoot. girls can get fight club, i got fight club. i WANTED these pictures to show that girls got Fight Club. instead i just really want the chick with the purple hair's phone number.
at the same time i know nothing about this girl group. are they a burlesque troupe? online pin-ups? my opinions are the opinions of the unfamiliar outsider.
Reminds me of a few gals I used to know...
i think i've met maybe one girl who didn't like the fight club. some of you guys are taking that movie a bit too seriously. i think the photoshoot is very cool.
ande1978: I submit to you that no chick out there really "gets" Fight Club.
I submit that you're a douche.
hahahahaha
brother ande, i dont know what youve been smoking, but.. this isnt so serious, man.
this is fairly close to my line of thinking..
i mean, it was a dedication, not some photographer thinking they can mimic fincher or chuck
and most men probably dont realized that a lot of women enjoyed seeing so many men shirtless and fighting purely from a prowess and "oh-beautiful body" perspective. and this does the same thing, but for men to enjoy that way too.
without being yet another group of men wanting to start an edgy fight club because they are men and so they know men better, or whatever the argument stated is about-
kabol
..
My two cents, I love sweaty naked women as much as the next person, but yeah the entire idea is in direct opposition to Fight Club. It's visually similar, but that's as deep as it goes.
As we all know, Fight Club is about men being men, releasing built up testosterone that our society doesn't give us a proper outlet for. It was not about "winning" and being champion of the ring, it was simply being male.
These pics totally missed that point. In some, one is even cheered as a victor and the loser is made fun of. If you're going to pay homage to another artist, at least have some fundamental insight into their art, not just a superficial understanding.
Visually: Win
Figuratively: Fail
what you all don't know is all of them gals really are dudes! Whoa!!!
no wonder their boobs are all wayyyyy too small.
I for one prefer tittens.
or niplets?
I like these pictures. They are fun. FUN I say, FUN!
sexy.
I can't tell which one is Bob, they all have bitch tits
ooooooh he went there! HE went th- I mean, I didn't think anyone would go bu--awwwww snap! He went there y'all!
I submit to you that no straight man can "get" Fight Club.
i thought this was a blog this whole time. turns out it's a News Post!
No. No no no no no.
You are not special (no matter how many tattoos you bought). You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake (no matter how many genital piercings you bought). You are the same decaying organic matter as everyone else (no matter how much $$$ you contribute to the Punky Color corporation).
Post-molested little girls with looooooong histories of getting what they want if they show their tits make me very sad.
on some level, don't we all have to "show our tits" to get anything we want?
Not at all.
yes you do.
Assuming that women that like to show off their bodies and exult in their own sexuality are 'post molested" makes me sad.
This is America, Goddamnit!
everyone is either post-molested or pre-molested.
one way or another, you gonna get molested!
OK. For serious now.
1. This sucks that when I hit backspace it sends me back a page.
2. I've never known a woman that freely shows her boobs or pussy in public wasn't somehow sexually hurt/damaged/molested in her adolescence. Healthy women don't strip or pose for nudie pictures - God's honest truth.
3. If you're offered a raise, a free year's worth of cable, a dinner at KFC if you show your tits, you can accept or decline. Nobody has to show their tits or show their uh... hypothetical(?) tits in order to get anything - doing so is a choice.
This is true. But I imagine it hurts a hellava lot more when you're young.
The difference is in that scenario, it is something being offered to you. something that you may or may not want or desire.
If it's something that you want, that isn't already being offered to you, then you have to flash the metaphorical tits to get it.
If this wasn't a news post, I'd so flash my tits to make my point. I was not molested. I think I have a nice body. I showed my geek panties on the web because I thought it was fun to join in the dress down ruckus.
At this point in my life, I'm a lot more focused on what I need rather than what I want.
Personally, if I see a site called suicide girls, I expect to find a lot of fucked up women still coping with some kind of pre-pubescent trauma (which explains why they would continue to identify as girls) that made them suicidal.
Just my humble opinion, g.
Why in the world do you think that just because you think you have a nice body anyone else would want to see it? Do you need people to tell you you have a nice body? Why can't you just live with it and enjoy it without other people's approval?
Do you know any men on...uh...the planet Earth?
Of course I know men but I fail to see how walking around topless or nude just to please men is somehow indicative of a healthy self-image or for that matter, indicative of having a "nice body".
yeah women! put your bras back on and get in the kitchen!
Which begs the question...how many women do you know?
