Updated With Phone Numbers & Signing Instructions!
I contacted Chuck's publicist this weekend about ticket info, and he got back to me with not only phone numbers (below) you should each call for event info, but also specific instructions on how the signing is going to work at each store. I'll begin with that.
- All books will be pre-autographed.
- Only the first 150 people at each venue will be able to have their books personalized.
- No memorabilia whatsoever.
- Chuck will personalize up two backlist titles in addition to copies of SNUFF for each of the 150 ticket/bracelet holders.
- Contact the event bookstore for details regarding personalization.
- Chuck will not be personalizing books in New York and Denver.

Umm, did anyone notice that Amy Hempel will be interviewing Chuck in NY? Wow.
Important Details About How Chuck Will Sign Books This Time
According to Todd Doughty, Chuck’s very awesome publicist at Doubleday, here is how Chuck will be handling signing books and meeting fans this year:Yes, we’re changing the signings a bit this year. First of all, fellow Doubleday author Donald Ray Pollock, author of KNOCKEMSTIFF, will appear with Chuck in Ann Arbor, Minneapolis and St. Louis. Second, Chuck will be interviewed on-stage at each event regarding not only SNUFF, but also his entire career. He’ll also be reading and it looks like we’ll have a trailer of CHOKE to show as well. This will all be followed by audience Q&A and there will be prizes galore, as usual.
In terms of the signing, here’s the lowdown: Chuck will pre-autograph all copies of SNUFF before the tour at the Random House warehouse. These signed copies of SNUFF will be on sale at each of his events. However, only the first 150 people in each city will have the chance to meet Chuck as well as have their copies of SNUFF personalized. Tickets or wristbands will be given out by each store to the first 150 people. More details to come…since I don’t know how each venue is going to handle passing out the tickets/wristbands. Also, both the NYC and Denver stores have asked that Chuck not personalize – signed books will be for sale though.
Remember, these dates are subject to change.

Sweet!
a Texas date. awesome.
Chuck was here in Winnipeg, Canada for Rant, I really hope he returns for Snuff.
anyone know anything about any UK dates? It's looking like America's getting all the love..
I would love to make it to a US signing....
You will have to wait and see for further dates.
I figured he'd have to limit his signings eventually or hs hand would fall off. Hope he makes it back to LA...
Booo. He needs to come to NJ, or in the least, Philly.
good to see there will be an interview w/ chuck...no more relying on us melon heads in the audience to ask a decent question.
i'll be in NY work permitting.
if he adds boston, and i can not make NY i'll go there.
No Florida? I'll see if Georgia is possible I guess.
Denver!! I could possibly go to that one!!
goddamn it! he never fucking comes to lousiana!
So if there's no personalizing in Denver (where he hasn't come since... Lullaby? Or Diary, maybe. A long time, and I've never been able to go when he's here) does that mean that we won't be able to meet him, or take pictures with him or anything? I tend to say stupid things when I meet people I really admire, so I guess that's fine. But I'd still like to.
Frankazboy come down to austin for the snuff tour. You, Daley and myself can all hang out for a few days it could be fun.
come on miami! please?
I'm gonna go to the Union Square one in a wedding dress again. Beaten up, choking on steak, and talking to my imaginary religious cult friend. After my sex change, of course. AND THEN we can all have an ORGY! Woo-hoo!
Just got my tickets yesterday for the Minneapolis date. It is at the Triple Rock and starts at 7:00
hells yeah! tour date near me on my birthday!
Where did you find where it was going to be?
I hope he gives us an assignment.
Chuck came to Miami, Florida for Rant and I was not able to see him. I really hope he visits here again for Snuff.
*crosses fingers*
It is on the shows calender on the triple rocks website and you can purchase tickets on the website as well http://www.triplerocksocialclub.com/shows
Cool, I'm glad for the more info, but I am still wondering if I will be able to meet him at the Denver date or not? Or is this more like a concert, sit and watch but that's all?
Anyone?
I hope I'm able to go to the GA reading (it'll be my first time going to one of his readings) but does anyone know if you have to contact GPC to get tickets to go?
no CHICAGO? WTF? i know it was bad last year, but shite - and what's with all the "chuck won't personalize" crap, that's a load of bs
WTF?! That's it! I'm switching over to Dan Brown. Screw those other cities! I'll never read Palahniuk again! It's all Suglia, all the time now! Ooooooh you've made a bitter enemy today! And you've earned Danielle Steele and Ethan Hawke a new devoted reader. How dare you sir! How DARE you! Wait, Where am I?
I was hoping to see him in Boston again. Oh well.
Ehh...yeah a little disappointed there's no Boston or Maine or anywhere closer to NH but this will give me a reason to do an NY trip that week.
I'm crossing my fingers for some international dates, more specifically canadia, more specifically, montreal. Either way, I'll flee to NY for a few days. After the huge event that was the Rant tour, I can understand a more relaxed go around this time.
i'm just betting, little rock, arkansas is outta the question..
ho hum..
though i will be in washington come august and you never know if something cool will be popping off them. but probably not.
Frankazboy come down to austin for the snuff tour. You, Daley and myself can all hang out for a few days it could be fun.
Dude, I would love too. I don't know if I can swing it, though. I'm already taking a couple of trips elsewhere. I have too look into how much time left I have to take off.
I can't believe he isn't coming to Portland. There is no way I'm ditching class and driving up to Seatlle.
.
random !
havent seen you around in a while. nice.
oh, yeah.. isnt the word that chuck's doing a double tour this year, one for snuff and the other for the softcover of rant. i know chuck wants to go back to places he hasnt been in years, but he'll probably hit the norm spots on the second round. i wouldnt put money on it, but i think it is probably a fair bet. besides, havent you seen him like four times now ?
-kabol
..
Whens he coming to Tuam?
Whens he coming to Tuam?
Smarch.
Damn, I was really hoping for Ottawa or at least Montreal. Oh well.
Five days after he's in Austin I get the real licence. Oh well, I only know the vague direction of Austin anyway, it's probably for the best.
I e-mailed BORDER'S about the Ann Arbor date - planning on leaving at noon for a five hour drive and the event at seven. Well, this is what she said:
"Please contact the store one week before the event for complete details. At this time we do know that the event will be a wrist-band entrence [sic] event. Meaning, upon purchase of the book (or proof of previous purchase of the book) the DAY OF, you will be issued a wristband for enterence. I believe they will be liimited to 150 people. WE open at 9:00 am."
I find this a little inconvenient. She seems to expect me to get there at 9 or risk chance of not being one of 150. I thought the way I read the announcement the bracelets were just for the signing? This will be my first book tour, but the logistics of it seem to SUCK!
Ok, nice, I guess.
But what about Europe?

Ummm...any word on where this became the word? I know it was mentioned as a possibility way before the Snuff dates were posted, but I'd be surprised for him to do a larger tour for a paperback the he toured everywhere with in hardcover to go easy on a new hardcover release. But a Rant PBack tour would be nice...for us, the mob of fans.
Somebody should video tape record the event with Amy and Chuck and stream it on the Web site.
That would be awesome.
Dennis-- here's another DVD you could sell.
Sorry to see that Chuck is changing the way he does signings (at least for now).
But, it is understandable given the volume of people that he deals with.
I was hoping for chicago again but it gives me a reason to head up to ann arbor for a mini vacation
I'll never forgive chuck for never coming to louisiana.
I mean, the only author that comes down here is Anne Rice, and thats only b/c she fucking lives here!
milwaukee?
Tuam I swear hes coming to Tuam.
I think it's funny that someone complained he's not coming to Portland.
I see one guy talking about buying a ticket for one of the cities.......do you need to get a ticket for all of them, or can you just show up?
I'd say call the venue in which he is scheduled to appear and see what their procedure will be. I don't think all places handle readings the same way.
I got a question..."No memorabilia whatsoever" - Does that mean don't try to bring memorabilia for signing, or don't bring any memorabilia with you? I imagine it just means don't bring it looking for it to be signed, but that's a strange way of wording it. I'll call the NY place tomorrow or Wednesday.
Still, no one know about Denver? I can't meet him or take a picture with him? That's all I want I don't even care about personalizing (that much). Ho hum.
I already called the store and no one knows anything about it "until closer to time."
150 is a big number...I know last year he let people in who showed up early and signed and met with them. I'm thinking now he may take the personalizations of the first 150 ppl rather than meet, cause that takes way longer. Chuck's problem is he's too nice, and here's why (I don't blame him, and I'm glad he's so cool) but last year, people were bringing stacks of books to all have personalized. My friends and I were second on line, and this girl who was maybe 15th had all of his books, and asked for a personalization of each. He wasn't going to turn her down, but it really was inconsiderate, and meant that the event was delayed a little while so he could finish up her stuff. Because he isn't going to say 'no' to someone with 10 books, it's probably for the best that people aren't given the opportunity to do that - the idea of he'll sign your book, but only two books back sounds like a great idea, though one I don't see getting heavily enforced. I'm going to show up mad early in NY, and if I get to see him before the show that'd be great, but I'm not expecting anything out of him, he doesn't owe me anything. I have a gift I'll give him if I get the chance, and if possible I'll get a pic.
My advice would be to show up as early as possible and see what happens. If you go in not expecting much, you'll definitely be happy with what you get...and Chuck usually delivers
