Does anyone know why Chuck refuses to sign body parts? I asked him at a meet and greet to sign my arm so I can get it tattooed and he said "you know my rule on that..."

Does anyone know what's up with that?

perhaps he thinks the notion of someone permanently drawing his signature on their skin is slightly weird and creepy?

If memory serves, it's because he doesn't want anyone turning the signature into a tattoo.

But why doesn't he want his signature to be a tattoo?

Probably because he feels like it's not a good idea to have his name etched into someone else's skin...or he just feels weird about it. No one can stop you from doing it, but he obviously isn't going to facilitate the process.

I suppose all of you are partially right. But his fan base is sort of made up of those weird, wacky people who've probably asked him for way weirder stuff than an autograph on an arm. In context, asking him for an autograph on your arm is probably a relatively mild request.

He actually took some time and explained this when he last spoke in Portland. And ya it's because he finds it a little strange and creepy, he doesn't understand why folks would want his signature permanently on their body. He also said that this is the reason he gives out severed limbs, he would rather people get those signed. He appreciates tribute tattoos and what not though.
