I don't even own a blu-ray player yet and I think I'm going to go ahead and get this. Mostly because Fight Club was my first DVD way back when.

not really sure what the point is. not about the fight club release, which is all well and good, but about the technology itself. what's the difference between blu-ray and what i have now, other than that blu-ray discs are more expensive and would require a complete update of my current collection?

oh -- and yay! another excuse to spend money i don't have on things i don't need.

capitalism, you win again!

Gonzo, you're right. If you don't have a 1080p HD TV, there is no reason for you to invest in Blu-ray at all. If you do, and you watch a lot of movies, I would say it *might* be worth it.

I say *might* because most movies are shot so poorly that watching them in HD doesn't add anything to the experience. However, a well shot movie will look wonderful. Nearly everything Fincher has done falls into this category, especially Fight Club.

If you can't afford the expense, I would never suggest you consider it. It is purely a luxury expense.
