The celebrated author of The Contortionist’s Handbook and Dermaphoria will divide his fall schedule between his upcoming novel and… you. With the emphasis on you.
You’ll get everything that was offered in previous sessions and more…
But first… don’t simply take my word for it…
Read what participants of Craig's previous intensives have to say:
"Craig Clevenger is a stone cold genius. The mental weight lifting, the emotion of his work, and the way he pulls it out of you, with kindness and a strong hand, is truly a gift. With his help I was reborn as a writer: in three years I published 20+ stories, won two contests, and finally got my first novel, Transubstantiate, out into the world. I wrote "Stillness" in one of his intensives, and it's now being published in Shivers VI with Stephen King and Peter Straub. Take his class. I took it twice."
—Richard Thomas, Chicage, USA
"Clevenger's Intensive exceeded my (impossibly high) expectations; I have learned everything I hoped to and much more. I will be poring over written lectures as entertaining and at least as informative as his fiction until every useful morsel is burned into my brain. Extensive (and brutally honest) peer reviewing and critiques from Clevenger himself have really helped me to step up my craft and polish my stories. I've met brilliant writers here who I hope to keep in touch with. You just can't get a learning experience like this anywhere else. For me, it was everything that college was not."
- Casey F., Washburn, WI, USA
"For someone struggling inside his own head to figure out how a story works, the Craig Clevenger intensive delivered on every level. Where else are you going to get unfiltered access to the lessons and personalized critique of not only a published author, but a published author you respect? Who could you learn from best, someone who has a lifetime of theory and no practice; or someone who followed their passion, made it work, and created something new and purely theirs? If you missed the Craig Clevenger intensive, you missed an incredible learning experience. Don't miss the next one!"
- Dave H., Dublin, Ireland
"This intensive has been a turning point for my writing. A price cannot be put on the knowledge and confidence I've come away with."
- Gary L., Middletown, CT
"The Will Christopher Baer and Craig Clevenger Intensives provided me with an array of tools to hone and enhance my writing skills. Each week of both workshops were an inside look at not only the common problem areas of writing, but also the mechanics that make up an effective, solid story."
-Chris D., Boston, USA

It sounds so dirty when you say it.
That's hot.
It would have sounded hotter if I'd said amygdala. That's my almond-shaped passion center. We could call her Amy, for short.
Craig, you mentioned:
"The Devil in the Details"
an essay, now public, that served as opener in your six-week class. It only seems right to link that up so everyone can get a sample of your teaching and a headstart with some of the core ideas.
I tried to enroll but paypal keeps telling me I should use a different account, is it full already? This seems like an adventure but maybe I'm too much of a beginner yet. Thanks for the opportunities though.
Hi, Carla. There is still one seat available. The problem you describe must exist between you and Paypal... not with us. Best to keep trying if you'd like to join this class. Check your Paypal balance and see if you need to add funds to the account, etc.
There is one spot still left, when you get to the Paypal screen, are you using your Paypal login?
It doesn't take my usual account and I have to verify the new one, which says will take 2-3 days. I guess the spot isn't meant for me, ha ha. I'll keep trying to get in though.

God I love that essay.
Can't believe this hasn't sold out yet.
We had a strange lull before filling that last spot, but it's all accounted for now. Full up. Congratulations to those who made it in.
What's this I hear about puppies and ice cream in Craig's basement?
That's right. He's picking us up in his ice cream van when our parents go to sleep tonight. Apparently it's a secret.
Also, hi The Cult; because this is my first post and that's just polite. I joined when signing up for this class a few days ago. This is going to be fun.
Last time I ventured into another writer's basement, I just kept descending. I'm still there.
NNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
intro emails due soon? it's october 7.
No it's not.
While I am, as usual, excited for this workshop, I'm slightly peeved that I've been hit with 40 pages of translation work to do before an impending deadline — worst timing possible. Either way, I'm there!
it is for me!
Besides, I thought the intro emails were coming before the beginning of the class.

Dude. It's not quite 7 am East Coast USA. That means it's not quite 4 am on the first day where Craig is living.
And yes, I normally distribute orientation e-mails the night before, but this time it'll be morning of. What that first e-mail will mostly do is welcome you and point you to the forum and the introductions section, which you and several others have already found. So, it won't be of much value, except to people brand new to our setup.
Therefore, let me say 'welcome' right here in public. Welcome, and please consider your class already started. What we do starting out is introduce ourselves, which is already going.
Craig will drop in and start making the rounds and adding content when it's a normal time to get up in San Francisco.
