Chuck Palahniuk's Men's Health Article: 'Live Like You're Dying'
One of the best things that happens when Chuck gets close to releasing a new novel (besides the book tour, obviously), is that the journalist in him re-awakens. This usually leads to a slew of articles and interviews he'll do for magazines such as Maxim, Playboy, BlackBook, Esquire and more. You might remember that these articles were all captured in his 2004 collection Stranger Than Fiction: True Stories.
Well, Chuck hasn't stopped. Since then, he's continued to pump out more (many of which, you can find databased in our evolving Bibliography section).
His latest article is a landmark. It's for the most recent issue of Men's Health, and I truly believe this is one of the finest pieces of non-fiction Chuck has ever written. It's sort of a self-help article on people thinking about suicide. But that's all I'll say. Read it and then discuss it here after. We'd love to hear your thoughts.

The third C was for haircut?
No, the article was 3 pages long and you're just retarded.
Hey, thanks! You just made me realize what the third C stands for!
Hey, guess what, Miss Attitude?
hahahaha no, it's that sometimes his jokes just dont work. i have that problem..

I suppose I should clarify my second joke attempt and say that I didn't need to look at page two of the article to come up with a third C word.
and i should clarify that in my case, it's mosttimes.
ps- and the article was dope. i remember a time when i used to collect and bind all of his interviews and articles, and then he bound stranger than fiction and i stopped. it was easier to buy the book. and this one is one of the better ones ive read. even beat out his interview with marilyn manson
*APPLAUSE* You're good, you!
Ha! Very nice.
Fantastic article too.
no kidding.
very similar to the "prescribed burn" theory of living, i.e. burn off the underbrush every few years to prevent a bigger, terminally destructive forest fire.
great article, makes you wonder what was running through his head this past year...
That was fantastic.
I almost teared up. Don't tell anyone.
I almost teared up. Don't tell anyone.
this made me sad
When Chuck wrote back to me, he gave me this exact same advice though it was worded in smaller form and much more specific to my person. Reading this is almost like coming full circle for me somehow.
OK good... So I'm not the only loser that used to do this... lol. Sometimes I like his nonfiction better than his fiction. I just wanted to collect it all!
Great Article
I need to make my male friends read it
And I checked out the trailer for Inception and it is something to look forward to
Men's are not taking care of their health. As they always eat the unhealthy food and also ratio of smoking are also increased. I seen that Many people dyed due to that only. So i suggest that take the power yoga and you must do the sex with your partner with the help of soft cialis pill.
I don't trust anyone wearing a mask. I will not do the sex with you.
His articles on pdofk are fantastic, but I still can't believe he would give a douchy rag like Maxim or Men's Health the time of day... he must have a really convincing PR guy.
I just made a custom album cover for the Fight Club Soundtrack (check out the attachment) and feel free to use it!
They pay very well.
I had a friend that committed suicide a few years back.. if only he did some of these things before actually going through with his suicide.. i guess this was published one year too late.. he died at the end of 2007.
every once in a while i'll think.. if only he stayed alive and i could have shared "insert whatever here" he sure would have loved "whatever".. then i think.. heck "whatever" is something that keeps me going... maybe it could have kept him going too.. but.. oh well.. too bad.. so sad.. whatever..
only thing is.. he's not Kurt Cobain, but I remember him each and every day all the same.. actually i think of him and kurt as one in the same.. they both died wearing converse all-stars after all.. if you are a depressed person & you wear converse all-stars you will eventually kill yourself.. something about those sneakers screams suicide..
i am now older than this friend who killed himself... its weird outliving someone older than you that you looked up to.. but oh well.. too bad.. so sad.. whatever..
