New Story "Romance" In The August Issue of Playboy
Looking for something new from Chuck? Can't wait until October 18th for the release of Damned? Well you're in luck, because there's a new short story in the August issue of Playboy. The short is called Romance and here's the official word, straight from the Chuckster's mouth:
The story is called "Romance," and it's the most redemptive story I've ever written. Look for a good, old-fashioned boy-meets-girl love story culminating in the birth of beautiful babies. I'll be reading it on tour in October for "Damned."
Gotta say, I'm excited to read this one... the story, not the magazine. Well, the magazine, yes, but the articles in it. The articles, dammit!!

I really want to read the article. I think it's a bonus that I get to see the clerk's face when I hand them this magazine to purchase.
Well this one came out of nowhere...
playboy is a pretty dope lit mag. good articles, very funny jokes. the airbrushed titties i dont care much for. and i dislike the fact that they no longer accept an unsolicited mss. kind of snooty of them. but when it's an author i enjoy reading, like denis johnson or hempel or chuck, i generally pick it up. my wife generally reads it after i do. like sharing a reader's digest. just, it has a harsher rap because of the fake tits and stuff.
I've just read the story and it's really good. Has that typical slap-in-the-face feel that Palahniuk pulls off so well.
Picked it up last night--much better than "Knock-knock."

Last time I got a playboy I told the Clerk i was getting it for the article. She asked me which one and when I told her it was the Chuck one she got very excited. Now I need to go buy more porn.

Yeah Brandon the film is in post now, and should be set for release in October. I worked with Andy Mingo on Georgie's Big Break. Also I was the associate producer, and assistant director on Romance. I've seen a rough cut, and it's very funny.
