A Question About The Ending *Spoilers*
It's this: do you think the "to be continued" ending is a joke or he's actually going to write a sequel?
My love, I hate you.
well, I'm not sure Madison's story can carry three books, but whatever you say.
My love, I hate you.
no, i agree with you. it's a weak story. i read it, and i really think it could have been a truly awesome short story, or... maybe sped up and have the whole story in the same 248 pages, and it would have worked better.

“...There are so many ways of being despicable it quite makes one's head spin. But the way to be really despicable is to be contemptuous of other people's pain. You ought to have some apprehension that the man you see before you was once even younger than you are now and arrived at his present wretchedness by imperceptible degrees.”
-James Baldwin
Well....what he could do is jump into a totally new character's head and frolic around in that for a while until you notice that it#s linked to Madison's story and...well, I'm getting ahead of myself. It seems as though he forgot to add cornflower blue to the story. Can't find it. But he DOES mention Missuloa or however you spell it,
My love, I hate you.
I loved the to be continued. One more little annoyance in a book chock full of them. I loved this book
I think Chuck said that the second book will be of Madison, being stuck on earth for a year?Purgatory.?I'm not quite sure what the conclusion would be about.
...
I think he said it in the Fangoria interview.. There will be 2 more books that will include flashbacks of Madison's life
If I can't be beautiful, I want to be invisible
I can see how this could stretch for 3 books. Madison could get stuck on Earth for a year, and then there's the confrontation with Satan, which is wasn't developed at all as a character, and then there's the possibility of her goinbg back to Earth permanently, or going to Heaven.
Still, I was surprised to see that it would stretch for another book, let alone 2, just doesn't seem to be enough of a storyline, and I'm not sure what the flashbacks from 9 year old Madison will actually add to the story.

a while back it was stated (i think by dennis) that chuck wrote three books while caring for his mother and pretty much watching her die. he said writing damned kept him in a distracted head-space (see: interview on main page) so... im assuming since he wrote three books, and mentions this as a the motivator for that writing, that it'll be a trilogy.
just an educated guess.
