what happened to the little box?
under /users/~me/track where it shows forum posts on the left, then on the right a column with my username, pm, google chat, etc.
there used to be a box with five or six of the most recently created posts, but it seems to be gone.
i have cleared my cache, firefox3.6, snow leopard.
it seems to be back now. i don't trust it. staple the thing down.

I'm not sure, but I do know that Clay is going to have to take the site down for about 5-6 hours to really fix it. Probably, this Sunday. We'll be sure to let everyone know before we shut it off.

I'll be sure to make plans during that time, so I can be out of the house and distracted. As it seems I have no life outside of the Cult as of late.
When we start to get a lot of traffic to the site, certain, non-essential things turn off to help reduce database calls. The "New Forum Topics" box is one of those things. As are most of the boxes that display an aggregate of new or recent content.
It has done this for a very long time, but people typically don't notice it.
It happened today because everyone wanted to read your top-10 list, it seems.

You guys are so cool. I had no idea that certain things shut down automatically when we're "overheating"!

Whoa! You're right, the newest threads section is missing. It probably has to do with the site crashing so much lately. Maybe they turned it off for now. I'm sure it will be back.
