The Taco Bell appreciation thread (formerly: Blogs are going away - Get them while they're hot!)
Hey everyone, I wanted to bring this up now so you have time to do what you need to in advance.
In the near future, we will be removing public blogs from the site entirely. As many of you know, this is a feature that is often misunderstood or misused. They tend to lead to a lot difficulty and drama. Perhaps it is our fault for not properly promoting them, but I like to think it's because everyone already has a blog elsewhere.
Since they didn't really catch on as we originally envisioned, we are going to remove them. We will then be doing something else that we think is more interesting and (we hope) of greater interest to our visitors. You'll be seeing this soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
In the interim, here is what you need to know. You no longer have the ability to create blog posts. However, you can still find the blog posts you made. If you have anything in there that you feel is worth saving, now is the time to do so. Eventually, all of the old stuff will be deleted from the site, so take care of this ASAP.
If you have any questions, let us know.
Above you state that we will still be able to view our own Blog Posts but that we need to save them cause they are being deleted. Please elaborate on this. Are they being deleted or are they not being deleted?
They are going to be deleted in the near future. You can CURRENTLY view them.

personally I never really saw the use of them. plenty of blog hosting sites out there, why waste the server space?

I liked a few people's blogs. Most were by regulars, but still. Also, without my single posted blog entry, I'd have never gotten into the workshop. (Which I haven't utilized, but I WILL! I swear. No, for real.)
It's all the new kids coming in and clusterfucking the whole blog thing. They take a look around, sign up, and take shits all over the site.
You can't post your own stories in them and people don't like them so they are useless.
darn and i was just getting ready to put off typing another entry. another item on the long list of things i'll never finish now.

Well I was using the Blogs here and there to do my "creative" blogging, or test the waters for some ideas.... of course nobody really commented on any of them except when they though I was talking about a stupid Dane Cook movie when I wasn't. I did get a couple of nice comments on my sporadic rants and poems that I appreciate though.
well, that sucks. damn, but it was inevitable--and now we wont have to spend near as much time policing it. so, yay to that..

How long until they are deleted?
I don't have an exact date, but let's say you have a week from the date this was posted. It might be longer but don't count on it.

No one really likes Taco Bell. You might tell yourself you do when you're eating it,you might even finish your last bite with a smile. But soon enough you will realize how truly terrible Taco bell is and swear off eating it ever again. Yet, a few weeks later you will have a craving for that sad excise for Mexican food.
After I eat it - I get really sleepy. And then I usually pass out. One time I was full of energy. Came home with a bunch of chalupas and soft tacos. I fell asleep with a taco in my hand! haha
So, yeah, I have to agree with you Noah.
I have to disagree Noah. Taco Bell is a guilty pleasure and I enjoy for the very fact that it's not real mexican food. Ha I don't even know if it's real food but I do enjoy it, it's very rare I regret it. I have been known to kinda regret real mexican food in the morning but that will have a lot to do with the drinking I did the previous night as well.
