It's kind of interesting the amount of support I've received regarding this, actually, via PM and email. I guess people are afraid to post their support here for the most part.
Banning Jane for more than a week was a mistake.
Not sure what else I'm missing/not addressing, but this isn't my top priority. No offense.
The only reason people are afraid to post their support for you is that they played nice to her face, pretending to be her friend, but now that she's gone are breathing a sigh of relief and acting like they wanted her gone the entire. It's two-faced.

I love Six. I just don't see any defensible position for what she has done.
If anything, I'm upset at myself for not being enough of a friend to have sent her a PM or let her know I thought she was on thin ice, before all this spiraled out of control.
I was an enabler.
She knew she was on this ice and facing a month long ban and made her decision. No one should feel guilty.

Man, people are complicated, and there's nothing we can do to change them. Six is Six, and some will love her and others will be "meh" towards her. I love Six, but if she's been banned, you can bet it wasn't because of malice on the part of the POWERS THAT BE. Six and Sexydeathsoda could have ignored each other, or they could have tried to work things out. You're right about that. Mirka and I managed to work stuff out that way. But for that very reason, I can tell you that no matter how much you care about Six, her banning took place because that's the way a successful site is run.
Six is nice to you, but what if she hadn't been? What if Six, or anyone else for that matter, had insulted you from the beginning and hadn't stopped? Would you feel comfortable being a newb here? We all know there's a certain amount of hazing around here before someone is accepted as part of the gang, but when it's taken too far (and I don't know how far Six is supposed to have taken it, so I'm not making any accusations here) the Admin have to take a stand. Otherwise there's no point in even having moderators.
And don't forget, for all the HORRIBLE EVIL UNFAIRNESS OF IT ALL, we, those who care about Six, have been privileged to have got a thread about it, several explanations from many of the administration like Frank, Kirk, Mirka and Jonathan, and we've all voiced our opinions without being shot down. This isn't exactly a concentration camp, is it?

i mean, chuck has hit in the top ten to four of the hundred best sellers list for the past three or four years now. that's impressive. it's an injustice to him and his work to limit the medium of that kind of traffic, the kind of traffic that makes the difference. (and.. anyone who can get kids to read--and adults to read--deserves every outlet at their disposal.)
this is a fan site. chuck doesnt post here but once in a great while, and only for advisement in the workshop. but the rules were put in place for his work, for all that he's done, for all that he does. he wants to have a number one selling book. that is a goal that he has gotten close to a number of times. it would suck if this site, his official "fan" site, inhibited him from reaching that obtainable goal..

Thanks, Phil, this is really kind of you. If I was a jerk that banned people because I didn't like them, I would have banned you a couple of years ago. No offense to you, but you and I had our differences. Now, I treasure you. Like Cor and Night and others that gave me a lot of headaches. most people who come here dont join, though most of those people who do not join do come here regularly. looking up chuck through his site. unless the site is blocked in their school or at their work. goo. gle is an incredible filter. it can and does even basically punish sites for criteria well beyond my scope.
a few years ago, this site was blocked at my work. it hasnt been blocked this whole year. and the software and service, none of it changed; this site did.
i mean, chuck has hit in the top ten to four of the hundred best sellers list for the past three or four years now. that's impressive. it's an injustice to him and his work to limit the medium of that kind of traffic, the kind of traffic that makes the difference. (and.. anyone who can get kids to read--and adults to read--deserves every outlet at their disposal.)
this is a fan site. chuck doesnt post here but once in a great while, and only for advisement in the workshop. but the rules were put in place for his work, for all that he's done, for all that he does. he wants to have a number one selling book. that is a goal that he has gotten close to a number of times. it would suck if this site, his official "fan" site, inhibited him from reaching that obtainable goal..

When I posted that I was still feeling the 'RIP Tuffy' thread in my gut. He and I had been keeping in touch via email, then he dropped off my radar and I saw THAT. A lot of us have grown quite close here, and while some keep contact through other channels, that's not always the case.

I'm less sentimentally attached to the person and more angry about the ban in principle, but having Six here is better than not having Six here.
It's kind of interesting the amount of support I've received regarding this, actually, via PM and email. I guess people are afraid to post their support here for the most part.

The only reason people are afraid to post their support for you is that they played nice to her face, pretending to be her friend, but now that she's gone are breathing a sigh of relief and acting like they wanted her gone the entire. It's two-faced.
I don't like that she was banned, and I've heard her side of the story, but I'm also one of those people who recognizes authority and respects it. So while I'm not at all happy with the decision, I realize that there is nothing I can do about it, and I'm not going to make enemies over it. I'll just wait until she comes back.
