I'm not american so some things there seem out of place to me. But why were there students at night in the gym ? Americans use to fuck themselves there or what ? Help me understand. Thanks Reggie.

I believe it was a horrid exaggeration on Chuck's part to demonstrate the "depravity" of the American youth. There's no school in this country that would allow any club, especially a Model UN, to hold an unsupervised party involving drugs and alcohol on school property.

It happens. Highschools, at least the ones I'm aware of in lower income/middle surburbia, have only gotten worse. The highschools I attended for example: the teachers want to be friends/cool with the students and many times lines are being crossed, whether it be sexual relations, partying with students, letting students run the school. It's sad to say that some of Chuck's perceptions on American teenagers aren't completely exaggerated. Pretty soon highschools are going to be the equivalent of a correctional facility.

And as you can tell from my writing they didn't teach me jack shit in high school.

And another thing. Have I misunderstoond or the church is in mall or wal-mart ?

The church is in what used to be a large retail store. This is common in America's bible belt.

I actually think that it was a school dance. As Pygmy says Sex dance multiple times... possibly poking at the way highschool students dance. Whoever posted about schools not allowing clubs was right, however they do allow school dances which i think that may have been. Since the girls were wearing minimal clothing or revealing dresses that may be why Pygmy deemed it as some sort of oppertunity to 'plant his seed'

You probably already figured this out, but a major factor in some of the strangeness is that Pygmy is from a very strict authoritarian culture (North Korea is not likely it, but representative of the mentality here).

So, things such as the choir singing songs that don't praise the ideology of the state, but just ramble on about social trivialities, offend him.

Furthermore, the reason that he's all worked up about planting his seed in a classmate's womb is because they have a directive to do so as part of their subversive agenda. There was an anchor reference early on that reminded me of "anchor babies" that illegal aliens try to have delivered in the US in order to secure citizenship here. All Pygmy seems to care about here is the implementation of the subversive agenda, not necessarily an obsession of teen lust on his part.

But as far as teen lust is concerned, pretty much any situation in a midwestern middle school is saturated with it. Thus the nicknames for the classmates (referring to fun bags, sweater meat, etc) were provided by his host brother "Pig Dog," and Pygmy accepts it the same way he accepted Listerine as cologne, simply because Pig Dog told him that it was so.

Oh, and from what the news says these days, "sexting" is sending naked photos of yourself over the cell phone, as well as using text message to arrange sexual encounters.

I think Pygmy and I have a lot in common -- we don't seem to know a lot firsthand about 21st century USA, but pick things up here and there...
