(Forgive me, I'm cranking this out with just 15 min to go before work. I'll try and get a better one out soon.)

Got to see a full house sneek peek for Choke yesterday and everything is good. While nothing can compare to the first explosion of Mr. Palahniuk on screen with "Fight Club" this was just as loyale and satirical and twisted and witty as could be expected. Of course some things were changed here and there but nothing that was too shattering. Narration and inner monologue were used, possible more sparingly than in "Fight Club." Lines and scenes where taken directly from the book and it could be said that less was changed in this movie than in "Fight Club," I speak, of course, of the cleaned up (Even Mr. Palahniuk will agree.) ending. Things in "Choke" were, of course, made more linier for narrative and I think condensed. While watching it I felt that the whole book was being moved in fast forward. That perhaps the audience members that have not read the book would be left behind. As far as I could tell no one was left behind and even if they were, they enjoyed the ride. Sam Rockwell did an excellent job at making Victor a likeable character without turning him sacrine or docile. He's still a dick. He's still pathetic. But he cares for his mother and isn't evil. He's just human. Or is he Jesus Christ 2.0? lol, Have to go.
In short, of course it's good if you're a Chuck Palahniuk fan (in writing or from "Fight Club"). Will the twist blow you away like it did in "Fight Club" no, but it's no where near as dissapointing as say a M. Night Shamalan movie where that's all you're looking for. With Mr. Palahniuk, you're looking for a good story about a failed mesiah slathered in dripping satire and comedy--that's what you'll get.
But, that's just my opinion.

(Again, will try and get a better book2movie comparison, I'm sure the beginning of many to come out later tonight/early tomorrow. Sorry, I can't be of more help. And please forgive spelling and gramatical errors.)
