First Choke movie poster
Hot on the heels of the release of SNUFF, the first poster for the Choke movie was revealed.
In advertising and promotion, timing is everything.

I like the site's journalistic cohesion, especially the "Choke premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and was bought by Fox Searchlight for around $1 million.", and the related article, "Sundance: Fox Searchlight Buys Choke for $5 Million!"
But the poster looks great. Cheers for the nod.
Everything I've seen looks pretty god damn professional, especially the flash site. This is all making me a bit too pumped up for the movie, seeing as I can't legally see it in Theaters and I'll (more than likely) have to continue anticipating it until DVD release. yay!
By the way, I'm not really complaining, just venting. I hope none of you infer that I think the movie should be rated pussy-shit 13.
Well, Choke is a movie Rated R, therefore only viewable by highly mature 17 year olds. Seeing as I'm only a moderately mature 16 year old, I'd probably end up having my entire youth tainted by such a movie if I were to see it before turning the appropriate age.
As you can see, there is a big difference between 16 and 17.
And I thought about having my dad take me to see it. But that's probably not a good idea.
Oh dude, buy for another movie and just walk into Choke. Or have an older friend buy the tickets and give them to you. You do what it takes to do what you want, don't let society's petty rules prevent you from living your life the way you chose.
Movie poster looks good, I want one.
Are the theaters really up on checking age for the films, guess so. Just because a bunch of old folk decide to attach an age to the film, don't let that stop you. Make your own decision. Or buy a ticket for an earlier movie, watch it, then walk into a later showing of Choke. It's all timing.
Not exactly, but I do have friends that are 17 that can get in, thus having the ability to swap tickets. More than likely I'm just going to buy into another movie, then miss the first few minutes of the film and walk in... Or wait for my friends to see it, take their ticket, photoshop the date, reprint it, and go that night.
And yes, I already have a Pineapple Express ticket from a friend waiting to be photoshop'd.
common misconception. The MPAA, which is the group that hands out film ratings, is not a government body, and is a completely voluntary system for both theaters and producers. (its also a huge barrier to entry for independent studios set up by the larger, established studios, but thats beside the point here) there's no legal reason that you shouldn't be able to see the film. Theaters do, however, have the right not to sell tickets to patrons, for whatever reason.
And I doubt it would be THAT bad watching the film with your dad. I mean sure, the movies about a sex addict, but if its anything like the book, its funny about these things. And if you cant talk about sex with your dad, maybe your not mature enough to see this movie.

Nah, I can talk sex with my dad, but that doesn't mean that my enjoyment of the film won't be hindered by awkward silences. Also I've already read the book, so if I'm not mature enough to see the movie then I should already be pretty fucked up from reading the book.
Anyway, the biggest reason I can't go with my dad is because he probably won't want to see it :( sad face.
