Ooooh, I hope they do this right. Not some half-assed hack job. I'm way excited...but at the same time, I'm going to try not to get my hopes up toooooo much, because the fact is, most movie adaptations are no where near as good as Fight Club...and expecting every Chuck adaptation to be as good as Fight Club was is probably a setup for disappointment...and there is nothing worse then getting super excited for a movie, loveloveloving the book, and then finding out the movie sucks balls.

Sam Rockwell is a good choice, I think, but I can't find any information online about this - I'd love to get the name of the production company to see if I can get involved somehow, even if it's only scrubbing toilets. If anyone comes up with anything, please let me know. And if anyone is buddy-buddy with Chuck, see what you can do to hook a brutha up...

What about the death of a loved one? Or being blind? Or getting stuck in a lift with tom9d?

We don't have lifts in America. We have elevators. And you should be so lucky as to get stuck in one with me Smile

They'd better leave in the part about the rape fantasy roleplaying.

This part is about all I remember from Choke. That and at the end the woman is an alien doctor from space?

(spoilers) In the end, Paige Marshall figures out that she's actually crazy, but takes it pretty well.

Oh yeah, I also remember the anal beads and heimlich and shit in his trouser leg, yuck.

This was my least favourite Palahniuk book. It hasn't got enough action of an explosion kind.

This is great news!! I always thought IM or Survivor will be the next adaptation...This is great to hear. And I think Rockwell is a good choice for Victor.

I hope in 2008 the movie will be out (After the shooting and post-production and all).

I don't know why, but when I thought about this character Edward Furlong came to my mind...

Maybe that dude who's in Knocked Up - he seems out of shape and dopie enough for the part.

Peter Sarsgaard (Garden State, Jarhead, and the Salton Sea) As denny

And Maggie Gylenhal as paige marshal (not many movies she wont do right now)

I dont like the idea of having a this be someones first time directing and second time screen adaptation.

Chuck has comented that the script is great.... but can he direct?

In greg clark we trust.

Im slightly concerned that this could flop and be one of those straight to dvd movies that we all ignore at the local blockbuster.

so lets hope for some more big names to keep this movie in the spot light

excuse me while i go watch matchstick men

I just finished reading Choke so would like to contribute.
Yay for Choke the movie!

I could picture Philip Seymour Hoffman as Denny.
Rockwell could be good as Victor.
Kate Winslet as Paige
meryl streep as the mother

I hope the sex scenes are long enough to crack one out to.

Crack one what, a wad of ejaculate or a baby? Depending on who you talk to, both could make a very long movie.

In no way am I trying to Chuck-bash...I love his books, but Choke is my least favorite and I will tell you why. I am COMPLETELY not sold on the notion that these people in restaurants feel bad for him and feel the need to send him money...I just don't get that. These are up-scale restaurants so wouldn't they assume he already has money? I had to have the heimlich performed on me and that asshole didn't send me shit. Perhaps someone could make this important aspect of the book more logical. I loved the rest of the book...help me obi wan, you're my only hope!

yes, i definitely agree. i pictured a person very similar to peter sarsgaard as i read choke for the first time.
i'm absolutely thrilled about the news, but i can't help but feel i'm going to be disappointed. i'll be judging it against fight club when i see it, and i highly doubt it will surpass it.
