Branch and Cassies Past (spoliers)
So reading through the book it was very apparent that Branch was the father of Cassie's baby even though I wont lie I was expecting some kind of twist later in the novel that didn't come.
But what I wasn't fully expecting was Branch and Cassie's history. I assumed that they met working in the industry and just knew each other while Shelia was just a very angry girl calling Branch a rapist, with this fact I also assumed there was a bit more but not as much as there was).
The fact that Branch drugged Cassie up and had sex with her, litterally killing her then bringing her back to life, obiviously when they were a bit younger, just surprised me a bit. Not like OH MY GOD surprised just unexpected.
So was anyone else expecting that kind of history between those two?
You can't believe in anyone else
The part in Snuff where he talks about Cassie's first "porn" vidoe. The one where he says he drugged her and had sex with her...
Did anyone else not see that coming?
You can't believe in anyone else
see it coming in the sense that it literally spilt out... yes. i thought for the most part it had been explained, however... i thought there was very little difference in the over all atmosphere of the story being that cassie had been a willing participant in her firsts. it was branch's ending that shocked, and very sorry to say, most disappointed me. it was not a shock to unravel any part of this story really...please don't hate hate hate me for saying so.
betrayal seemed an easy and uncomplicated theme early on in the novel, and cassie's first was an easy flowing part of the story...as far as flow goes overall.
i predicted far worse for the surrounding characters rather than the central antagonists...
my ability to be original in all confirmation and definition of the word desperately worries me.
