Why is Shot Dunyun so obsessed with preventing Echo from becoming pregnant? Is this evidence of the fact that Shot knows way more than he is letting on?

At the same time we descover that boosting is how the government has been controling this issue. Stopping her from having Rants baby would effectivly be damage control against another generational loop of time travelers. Instead of him initially having the amount of knowledge that Green and Chester had, I'd like to say that shot is more inclined to prevention and control and that is why he took the action he did.
Yes I'd agree with that but I wonder why Shot feels that he needs to 'control and prevent' in contrast to the others who seem to use their knowledge to their advantage.

I think there is substancial enough evidence to at least say that his leave with Chester was his very first time travel. We don't stumble upawn any of his loose ends in the story except for a small clue about the ports. He also has a very emotional reaction to loosing his dog and ability to boost. I think what Chuck is implying is that Shot is the moderator of the time traveling world. When he does finally go back in time one of the charactors mentions that they hope he remembers enough about boosting technology from school so that he could be the inventor.
