Quick question about the book I bought.
Amazon, birthday gift. Dude said it was a special / unique one so I was thinking it was the bundle package that we have here on the site but it isn't.
Arrived today there is a round cut out circle in the middle which reveals an R on the next page and has a golden dots in some pattern across the cover.
and at the bottom it says
ADVANCE READING COPY (bullet) NOT FOR SALE
In it is a card
With the compliments of John Pitts, what he does.

special pre publication paperback. 1st appearance of this book in print preceding hardback + reg paperback. 1st edition (as stated) 1st printing with full number line.
Which I'm coming to understand this was the first print of the book?

Yup, that sir is an advanced reading copy. And they are not legal to resell, but i wouldnt worry about it.

That sounds about right, that this is the edition they hand out to people for reviews and such. And yea I went ahead and dropped 20 bucks for it but ehh. It's a neat little find, glad some prick wasn't trying to sell it for a 100 bucks like other people (Not that I'd buy it)

Nightrious, funny thing about that I used my x ray eyes to see through the spine, and it inevitably lead me to Chucks House where 27 paces North East of his door step was buried a note saying not to tear the spines.

Personally, I enjoy things that aren't that well available to the public. I like Diary, and I read some of the original covers had Where do you get your inspiration hidden on the hardcover dust jacket or something, that would be neat to own (though I'm not that fond of hard covers) but not at the price of anything higher than 20 bucks
What makes the copy you got kinda of neat is that it had John Pitts' card in it. Though I'm sure it was sent out with a lot of the copies, I imagine most of them were lost. I doesn't add to the value, but it's kinda neat.
Sounds like an Advance Reader Copy to me. They release those to press/review agencies. They're not really supposed to be sold at all, but I guess there's a market for them.
