Does anybody have any ideas as to why they used Green Taylor Simms field notes as opposed to interviewing him? It says at the end that he is being sought by the police.

Green could never be interviewed for the biography because he wasn't around when the thing was put together.
Shortly after Rant crashed his car, Green totaled his own car and time traveled as well (see chapter 40 - no body was found in the Daimler that Green was driving, implying that he time traveled). The field notes were what Green put together prior to his own suicide crash, and were all the author of the biography had to go off of.
Because he is on the run you can interview someone that's not around.
