effing Loved It you naysayers
i really don't understand all the whiney controversy. Rant was an incredible book. i found it insightful and brilliant.
also!
there is no such thing as a new idea anymore. anything that could have been thought or done, has. BUT it all lies in the individuals interperetation of someone else's ideas or philosophies.
Rant kicked ass. No one's holier than thou opinion is going to take that away from me.
besides, you all are here obviously because something about palahniuk's writing grabbed your attention. so step off your thrones.
having a muse is the opposite of being amused.
jealous much?
smells liiiike sarcasm?
Im way to high on my throne and I loved the book. Go ahead, ask around -- completely, with all my heart, loved it... Good to hear I aint the only one.

Yeah. Anyway, Rant sucked.
Jay kay, I just wanted to push buttons. But in all seriousness, Rant wasn't that spectacular.
It didn't move me. I felt like it took to long to actually identify who the characters were in relation to each other. Also, having the seperate voices made it disjointed. I couldn't connect with anyone, I think this was a bad move on his part really. It was a really nice idea but I didn't even get 'hooked' until 3/4 way thru and then it was over really quickly after that.
i thought rant was stylistically interesting. yet, i was a bit confused with the liminal time travel but then again who isn't? cool concept though. i had just finish Lunar Park before I read Rant. the werewolf motifs used in both are disturbing yet parallel artistically. what great novel Rant is...

im massively surprised at the reaction i see with Rant. to be honest, i thought it was amazing. Its been a little while since i read it, but i remember drawing so many connections from it, to Chuck's other works, as well as things like Cats Cradle by Vonnegut, dont seem to remember them now, sure wish i had typed em up. maybe ill get back to it.
but anyway, the book was fantastic, i absolutely loved it.

Wow. That's telling the man.
