I hear that if you buy the hundred and fifty dollar book that it has a coupon inside that lets you personally mail it to chuck palahniuk and he'll answer two questions you have for him. One about himself and one about the book.

Thats a mighty rare offer. I thought about buying the book myself cause of it.

hey, did you see THIS? click that link, it'll explain it all - it is an all black book with the sun/moon pattern, a sleeve (and very cheap one at that) and the story at the end, an epilogue of sorts

worth $150? i was a little disappointed, but it is his "first" signed limited (1000) total and could easily triple or quadruple in our lifetime, if you care about that

It's a limited printing, and that about sums it up.

There's a special afterword called Auto Mechanics or something like that.
Also the book is 7 1/2 feet tall and is made from Muenster cheese

yes that's it - i posted a synopsis somewhere but can't find it

basically it talks about cars, and how his buddy was a gear head and was working on his car in a bad neightborhood and got jacked basically while he was under the car

i'm really surprised it hasn't leaked onto the internet somewhere - i'd post it if i didn't think i'd piss somebody off, and it is a lot to type up

The Rant Limited Edition is specially packaged in a one-piece preprinted case, printed black, with the title created in spot gloss; a 4-color slipcase that matches the original jacket of the trade book; a 1/8" ribbon marker; a signed tip-in sheet, speckled edges; and an exclusive 1300-word "Automotive Afterword" entitled "Recipes for Disasters" which is not available in print anywhere but only in this limited edition.

It's fairly short. Maybe three pages. A true story, mechanic friend gets trapped under his car in a bad side of town. Like wickercat said. Some nice images, good tension.

Do you think the three page story could possibly be worth 150$, though?

I think the pricetag is more for the overall package; different cover, booksleeve, afterword, whatnot.
It's something for diehard fans and collectors only.
