FIRST! NYC Meet-Up 08 Pics
A few more...
This was on Superbowl night just after the Giants big win.
This is a random not-homeless man that asked us for money to buy a "big beer". He is smoking what was left of the roll-up Vitaly gave him. Derek, Vitaly, Angela and Shana pointed at him and called him mean names. He became sad.

Then, Vitaly decided we were all nasty, awful people and he apologized and then totally made out with not-homeless man. You can see how shocked they both were afterwards here:

Not-Homeless man asked me to destroy these pictures as he was walking away. Maybe he's in some kind of trouble. Now he's on the interwebs.
Then, there was this guy who was just drunk and babbling about football and what not and so forth...

He started to cry tears of joy and Vitaly held him close and comforted him. It was nice.

See gais...New York is full of love. Or at least, our Vitaly is.

aww, fun.

My NY Meet Up Report
There is always that one guy you meet at a party, who at first seems outgoing and lively, but you quickly realize he’s just a little too lively. Sure, he thinks that he’s the life of the party. To you he’s just loud, obnoxious, and you wish he would just shut the fuck up.
Saturday night, that guy was me.
I made up for 4 years of silence here at The Cult in about 2 hours. ☺
I couldn’t make it Friday for dinner with the big group, as friends sometimes have car accidents and then require bail, regardless of my previous plans. Apparently, Friday night for The Culties was full of festivities and late night debauchery. By the time I arrived, it turns out that Saturday night was full of hangovers and early bed times.
Notice the overwhelming enthusiasm:

Then these poor souls, who just wanted a quiet peaceful night, were hit by the tornado that is Dave.

I roll in pushing tequila shots, cranking up the jukebox, and begging people to stay out and play with me. But everyone tolerated me wonderfully (to my face). ☺
It was such a pleasure to meet some of the gang. The only regret I have missing the other half of the group. Hopefully this will help me stop lurking in the shadows of this place and jump into the mix a bit more. Thank you all for your kindness, for your encouragement, and for a fun night.
Dave

Again, without Cult names these photos mean nothing. I mean, who the hell are Bess, Kevin, Clara, Jay, Jenn, Richard, Tom and Bethany?
Um...I'm Bess. Hi.
[Dj_iii] 3:00 pm: i'm a motherfuckin graphic designer
do i really need to point out that im tom?
[Ironman] 9:19 pm: Girls are NOT are sperm depositors
yes tom, you will always have to point it out..well, just because...LET'S HANG OUT!
I'm Clara
I also go by Bethany... my bad
Edit: Dammit. Glam beat me too it. Thats what I get for having a thread open for 10 minutes, then decide to post in it.

That's okay bethany, not all of us can be quickdraw keyboardists.
KEVIN! You are awesome and I'm glad you came out on Friday...but we
didn't get to hang out enough. But you live in New York...so that's
ok. You must hang out with Vit and Alissa and me so we can wreak havok
on the city.
Heh, thanks, you seemed really cool as well. It was a relief that I didn't have to kick you in the shins and run away.
Also, like everyone else said, great job with the restaurant on Friday night. It was really good.

Who cares?
*Cough*
I'm Clara
Don't be cheeky, Spartacus. I'm Clara. And looking at these pictures I'm genuinely bummed I didn't get to meet Vitaly. He seems insane. I mean, whether or not I'd end up liking him, it'd probably be interesting anyways. Also, I really enjoy that in the one picture of me, someone was all "look like you like each other!" and somehow my interpretation of that ended up being looking confused/alarmed/disturbed at being within such an unsafe distance of THE HOTH.
I would be disturbed if I saw someone making whateverthefuck grimace-like thing I'm making in that and... most of the pictures. This emotion "like" confuses and infuriates me.
The Hoth. That reminds me. I was apparently one of the only people who was called their real name rarely during the meetup. I think in order of frequency it went: McLovin, Glamhoth, and then occasionally Kevin. It seemed like the right order, though.

Haha, yeah I felt almost as uncomfortable taking the picture as you two seemed being in it.
Also, I think I made it a point not to call anyone by their usernames. I think I did call Vitaly, JT once or twice.

I don't think I called anyone their username the whole time. I referred to a few people by their usernames in the third person just for other people's benefit, but I called everyone their real name to their faces. Go me.

Alex, I'm Richard - hi, we've talked on the phone, and worked on several Cult projects here, including but not limited to the Trainstation Anthology and the Cassun Project 2 (by the way, what happened to those), as well as supported and donated to your film project - Good to see you again - Alex is it?

heh. yeah, I know who you are on the Cult, and I know your name in real life, but trying to get people to put those two things together with a face, that's asking quite a bit...
I think we should do this once year in New York City.
Whose up for it?
Yes! That sounds like a great idea. If there's a meet-up next year, I'll be able to come.

"So the guy says, Doctor! Get this dichotomy! I haven't been able to sit right for a week!" - Mike

I'm still holding out hope for a West Coast meetup sometime this year.
Needless, to say, if I can make it, I'm in.

Um, had I known I would have told you I had a crush on you too. Wait, did I tell you? I was drunk when you left.

Gosh, I haven't even met Miss Pallix and I think I have a crush on her. You're so beautiful!

Alex is like 5000 times more adorable in real life then on the cult, and she's adorable on the cult.
She's so polite and cool. I felt bad that we all kept missing her phone calls.
I think she has to have a que of men waiting outside her flat.

McLovin just fits you so well. The best part is that when I yelled it across the room you answered.
I wanted to take you and vitaly home with me.
Richard was awesome, I'm really glad he made it to MoMA, I'll definately pick up the dinner time next time you make it into the city.
Derek was just fantastic. I love him.
Saturday night dinner was great: good crowd, good food, good wind. great conversation.
Everybody was pretty cool and attractive. We had quite a good looking crowd.
I'm just glad everyone tollerated my dorky ways and constant repeats of things and annoying behavior so well.
sorry for the bump, whatever..
i was looking for the fashion parade thread for shana (coulnt find it, though) and came across a question:
what's up with this ?
my shotgunface
(not verified)

I'm a real nice guy, loyal to his family and friends, like to help old people and I play well with children, but there is a very dark side to the moon. A predilection for the psychopathic, I have a history of violence I would like to herald always as ancient history. But some guys just wont listen, just wont let go.
As far as we know, she asked for her account to be deleted. Said it was personal. *Shrugs*
i wonder if she still has her account over at the fold..

I was looking over the photos and saw myself in that long coat and was hoping we could do this again when it wasn't so cold.
I do love this thread.
