Lets stay at this place - We can rent the whole place and it's two blocks from South Congress Ave. - - coffee houses restaurants and shops.

Of all the great places to stay, don't stay here. The staff was unavailable, there was no breakfast, the air conditioner was loud and the building and grounds were neglected. Oh, I forgot to mention, there are fleas!! It will be a long time before I forget this experience!!

I stayed at this B&B a year ago. If you're looking for a B&B in Austin, this is not the one to choose. The owner/hostess was inattentive and unavailable for guests to check in or out, staff could not understand or speak English, the house was in need of repair and cleaning, the furnishings were 'street' finds, the linens had holes in them, no curtains for privacy in the bathroom or bedroom, mice and insects were present, parking was inadequate and unsafe, and breakfast was not served. If you should receive property damage during your stay, do not expect the owner/hostess to be attentive or helpful.[/QUOTE]

My friend works there sometimes. So at least we won't get the sucker rate. We'll rent this huge house and two cabins with 2 acres of grass and a front porch. A deck over the garages has a view of downtown. There are three kitchens. Of course, as you can tell from the rave reviews there will be no supervision. No hotel manager or front desk person.

I will get a firm price from the people involved but I figure it's 100 per room per night, beat 'em down to 80.

Austin is now a Jet Blue Airlines hub.

I'll be gone the week before this Meet UP. I'll be in NYC. For 6 days again. woo hoo

Are there really mice and fleas?

Can you get a bed count from your friend? How many beds in how many total rooms?

I'd like to fly jetblue if possible. They still haven't added Austin to their website yet though.

This place will not house everyone. But it will be a spectacular base of operations. Some folks are either gonna have to stay at another hotel or sleep on a floor. there are rooms with no beds, sitting rooms and such where people can sleep. We can [I]all[/I] party there.

you should try and get a floor plan, yoga mats or twin sized inflatable mattresses usually only run about 10 bucks a peice,so if there's enough open floor space people who don't mind can sleep on those instead of paying for for another hotel. also are there other hotels near by?

Yes there are. Fancy ones close, there is a travelodge thats 80-100 a night but 4 can share a room. if need be

Hey Daley -- any chance you know about Marriotts and Courtyards in the area? My brother works at one and can get me a good discount on a couple rooms. I'd like to make sure it's within reasonable distance to where everyone is congragating (the fuck?) before I rent out a room or 5. Also, if anyone is interested in getting a room at the Marriott, should it be within reasonable distance to where everyone else is congragating (the fuck?), let me know and I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: Also, I vote for the Bed and Breakfast being our base of operations.

i like that idea. We can rent a theatre. [URL=http://www.alamovenuerental.com/rates.html]here is the link[/URL] it's 150 an hour (min 2 hours) and we can show what ever we want. The one by me in The Village is less expensive than the downtown one, but I think it's still too pricey.

I have thought about having some type of official meeting. Something that we would advertize and invite the public too. Something that showcased the Cult and our love of Chucky P. Maybe in a hotel ballroom or something.

This is what I was thinkin'

We get a hotel for friday night and sat. night. We party and go around town and all that.

then on Sunday we come to my house and get a keg and hang out. Or we get a keg on friday...drink it and get another keg.

Since I have this house we can save a night at the hotel. Folks can leave thier bags here on Sunday if they're leaving later that night. Some folks can crash here if they're leaving monday.

I am picking my vacation times and it looks like I will have to take the June week of the 5th and try to get an extra day attached at the end of the vacation for the 12th. So that way I can party a little Sunday (or most of it and crash in the airport until my flight leaves the next day Monday.... hmmm.
