Tell us about yourself. Where were you born? Grew up?

My name is Ludwig. I was born in 1972, in Niort. My parents are from the same village in western France. My father’s father was a barber and my mother’s father was a wine producer. I have a brother (Cyprien) who is now married, has two young daughters (Sidonie and Céleste) and lives in Paris. During my childhood and teenage I lived in Reims, Limoges, Chantilly, Bordeaux and Marseille. After high school I studied in Nantes and Lyon, and graduated in marketing. After my military service in a Navy air base, I spent the following 10 years in La Roche sur Yon, first as a newsagent, then briefly as a schoolteacher. Since last december I live in Germany with Barbara (scerpica).

You've obviously got a love for the martial arts - let's talk cinema. Favorite martial arts epic? And why?

We can distinguish the films where martial arts are the main theme and those where they simply appear.

Ok, to begin. Your amazing red hair. Do you know who you inherited it from?
Yeah, I got it from my mom. She tells me that theres a city in Poland where everyone looks like her side of the family- red hair and freckles. Its funny cause everyone who sees me is all "Oh, well you've got some Irish in you dont you?!" and Im all... yeah... but these features have nothing to do with that. Mom isnt the least bit Irish.

Have you grown up with both sets of grandparents? Do you know all about your ancenstry?

Let's jump right into things. You live in New York, yeah? Where in New York? How long have you lived there? What brought you/your family to New York?

I've lived in New York my whole life, which amounts to 25 years. I've spent the entirety of those 25 years in the Bronx - a place that is largely just as people imagine. But to the surprise of most, there are a few (and I mean a few in the literal sense of the word) parts of the Bronx that are really quite nice, and I'm fortunate enough to reside in one of those areas. It's a very suburban neighborhood called Throggs Neck, in the Eastern-most part of the Bronx, right over the White Stone and Throggs Neck Bridges from Queens. We have trees and houses with yards here, and Pelham Bay Park, which is the largest park in New York City.
