Anyone have any experience in working in foreign countries? Say if you're an American, and want to become an English tutor in Europe or South America, then how does one go about that? (or) How does one work in Canada?

What are the proper steps and procedures? Work visas?

My google search skills can't seem to find proper results.

Thanks!

I worked in The Netherlands for 3 years but that was kinda easy since it was within EU countries. This is almost certainly no help to you.
As for teaching English it depends mainly on the country in question. In some countries all you need is a World wide accredation in Teaching English As A Foreign Language (TEFL). Some places like Japan require that you are also a University degree graduate.

try your nearest Foreign work reqruitment agency. They might help.

I wonder if jane could get you into contact with Rents. That's pretty much what he's been doing for the past few years, if I'm not mistaken.

Glamhoth's right, I could do that. Rents is an American (from Portland) and he just spent the last year teaching English to Japanese students in a small city in Japan.

PM me if you want his email address.
