Cutting off a finger
i need help with this. i've tried the internet to see a finger being cut off so i can describe it but so far i havent found any video evidence.
G. Iriarte

What are you trying to describe, the look? The feel?
There are some horrible fucking videos out there in internetland.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Ive seen amputation by dog and by machinery. I could relay description, but I dont have any video or pictures... the net should be crawling with the misfortunes of those who put fingers too close to the blade, or too far inside that machine that says "WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH". Here's what Ive seen:
The hand, though intact, bent and twisted unnaturally at the first knuckles - the set you punch with. The machine, designed to stretch, flatten and cut, pulled his gloved hand in, did it's job, and was interrupted when the operator realized his fault. The large red "STOP" command was depressed and the machine shivered to a halt.
When the rest of the glove came off the blood-splattered disfigurement remained still. The owner of the hand kept calm but radiated the sense of extreme distal pain. The finger, no longer attached to the mangled extremity, was cut clean. There was no more resistance to the removal of his finger than if you were to strip your glasses off, or the sudden lack of light at the flick of a switch. The machine, efficient in its design and operation, severed and hid the digit with no effort at all. As clean as a guillotine. The bone would probably be visible if not for the fresh blood that pooled up at the end.
The bleeding was steady, not gushing like one might expect in the movies. THis is because there are no arteries in the fingers to produce the pressure necessary for the spray. Only small veins and capillaries, which bleed at less pressure. The bleed can be controlled with simple pressure and elevation.
The machine, doing its job as designed and intended, caused massive amounts of damage to a small, fragile extremity that got too close. The machine did not even notice.
You be subtle, I'll be severe.
I'm reading a book right now that deals with this. See if you can get in contact with Fred Venturini -author of The Samaritan. He seems to know all about this.
His website is: http://www.fredventurini.com/
And that post right there above seems helpful as well -from Basic881239. But I'm at work right now and can't see the pics and vids anyone's posting. My access is limited.
Good luck -You shouldn't run into too many roadblocks with this.

W.S. Burroughs wrote about cutting off the tip of his pinky. He used chicken boning scissors.
