Charities
I was wondering what were some of the cult's favorite charity organizations if any.
Basically we're having an art show at my house that was originally to raise money for the organization that I was working for for a cool minute but things turned sour real quick. My family was still keen on holding the art show anyway but now I'm not really sure which charity/organization to donate to.
So far the only ideas are to donate the money to LACMA or something related to art but I feel like there might be another charity or non-profit I'd rather donate to.
Help me help someone out.
I work for a non-profit, Hospital Audiences Inc., and we always like donations.
We bring the arts to underserved populations; hospitals, schools, prisons, the mentally challenged, nursing homes.
But we're in New York and focus on New York facilities, so maybe you're looking for something closer to home... or more global. But PM me if you want to consider it.

Having said that it makes me think how much money all the big guys get and how hard it is for the little guys. If i were doing something like you are I would definitely donate to a local charity. I don't know what your options would be where you are, but around here there are places like the Renzi Educational Center (for underprivileged children), Providence House (a combination salvation army/center for abused and homeless type of place) and The Philadelphia Center (the NW LA AIDS center) And don't forget about New Orleans! There are still organizations collecting money for Katrina Victims and the rebuilding of New Orleans.

Those are great suggestions Des. I'm definitely going to have to look into the organizations around here.

Thanks
I did some research and I think I found the perfect charity/non-profit.

talking about charity here, it's a nice thing that we have these different institution who are very much willing to extend support to the less fortunate individuals since poverty seems to get worst as days goes on. Poverty is becoming a big problem especially in other under developed countries but even our own country can't get away with it. Just recently as reported by the Pew Charitable Trusts, rumors of the loss of the American middle class are far from significantly exaggerated. Witness this poem to downward mobility: almost one out of every three Americans who grew up in middle-class families have fallen down the income ladder. Article source: One in three Americans are losing middle-class status
International red cross or any organization that helps cute little kids eat regularly and not die of AIDS.

Also, your local food bank can always use some help.
Hell, there are so many good charities it's hard to choose one. I always waste all my spare change on bums. And alotta good that does...
