Tank girl was pretty cool. Remember the movie had Ice T as a mutant kangaroo... Probably his best role.

i think that's hilarious - and it makes the writing process so fun if you have no idea where you're going with the story. also, if it suprises, scares, embarasses you - chances are it will do the same for your reader.

i think six on the dot really liked tank girl. so this might be a touchy issue for some.

oh and i tried watching the movie the other day and i just couldn't get into it. i was out of it. i really think i would like the graphic novels.

i remember always going to blockbuster as a little girl wanting to rent tank girl cuz the cover looked soo cool.

in the movie she is bad ass but i wish they would've picked someone different to play her.

Tank Girl and other comics like it always seemed to me to suffer from that indefinable "trying to hard."
But I've never read it, so maybe the writing is good enough to redeem it.

I don't think it really has anything to do with six being banned. People are blowing that out of proportion. The site's just going through a dull patch, i think. Or dull for me, anyway.

i never said it was because she got banned but pretty much after that everyone well most of the posters who had pizazz much like yourself have been very droll.

Personally, I think he made a stupid comment, but I also think he realized it, and tried to say that, but sorta messed it up. I don't condone rape, but I don't think he was being serious.

Regardless of whether or not said individual is a member, it was quite clear that everyone else knew who she was and, instead removing the thread, this BS is allowed to carry on further.

If this is the kind of person you are attempting to attract to the site for the writer's workshop, please disregard. The comment was clearly directed to the person in the picture who is currently unable to respond for some BS made up reason and anytime someone makes a reference to her, the powers that be get all up in arms and flustered...perhaps a review is in order.

Biffb, you're wrong. Plain and simple.

First off, we have banned paying customers, and do so when it is appropriate.

Second, had the remark been posted in a photo or (personal) thread, we would agree with you 100%. This isn't one of those threads, so it is unreasonable for someone to know who everyone is. This is why the picture was removed. The picture had an icanhazcheezburger stamp on it, IIRC and text to look like a lolcat pic. His comment was in admittedly bad taste (though within the rules). If you can't understand the distinction, I don't know what else to say.

Third, no one gets "up in arms" when someone brings up six, except those people who seem to think that she can do whatever she pleases on the site. We have a few rules, when you abuse them you get banned, when you abuse them often you get a longer ban. I think we're pretty forgiving. If you really have a hard time sticking within the bounds of a few rules, you're welcome to go elsewhere.

I respect your opinion and agree. However, I don't think this happens with enough frequency that we need to worry about it. The staff is all human, sometimes we make mistakes and misread or misunderstand what is happening. When we do, we're big enough to admit it.

I had no way of knowing that Fano had permission to post that photo since he didn't make any kind of comment. I deleted it to be on the safe side since six is not here to object. That was the right call, and I don't feel a need to defend it.

We also don't appreciate people posting for people that are banned. So if the situation was such that Six sent the photo to be added to this thread, then it would be deleted and you'd get warned. The whole point of a ban is a person doesn't get to participate here for the duration. I'm not suggesting that's what happened, and I'm not asking for an explanation. Just putting that out there in case that was the situation.

She's requested that I delete any rape comments directed towards her which I am. Normally I would not delete a comment just for being rude or tasteless, but since she's not here to reply, I think it's only fair.

If it's frowned upon to post for banned members, I respect that and will keep that in mind in the future. And really, I'm not here to cause problems. A friend asked me to post something and I did. That doesn't mean that I'm responsible for what someone says if it's inappropriate. This is yet another situation that exploded out of hand, and which we need to look at and learn what we can from it.

Maybe we should just be more strict, get some more mods and police the crap out of this place. It's nice how everyone came to Six's defense, but wouldn't it be nice if that same sense of outrage by the community came into play for a member that's only been here a short time?

On a more serious note, I don't think Matt knew that chick was Six. Very few people here AREN'T hiding behind avatars, so it's not like we know who the person is when someone's pic goes up. I honestly thought it was some pic yanked off of photobucket or something.
