I'm still working my way through Watchmen (really enjoy it so far) and also finally got Preacher Vol. 1: Gone to Texas.

Wait till you get to volume two or three of preacher. Some of the craziest shit ever.
I know. I'm looking forward to Herr Star and his perversion. When does he get on the scene?

volume 3, I think.
Thanks, Ubby. The series must have a lot of crazy stuff because I just remembered when I bought it, the comic-book guy said it's one of his favorite series, but he hoped I wasn't easily offended. Pshaw. A comment like that makes me anxious to read it even more.

I just realized I haven't been to my comic shop in months. I think I know what I'll be doing after work...
I can't ever go to my comic shop again because I owe the guy there a bunch of money for back orders I never picked up.
Today I picked up X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda; Preacher: Gone to Texas; and 100 Bullets: First Shot, Last Call.
What I've been reading lately:
Bone: One Volume Edition
Sin City Vol. 5 - Family Values
X-Men: Inferno
Sandman Vol. 1 - Preludes and Nocturnes
I just bougt vertigo's SWAMP THING and i love it.
Thanks, that reminds me to put Swamp Thing on my list of graphic novels to read. How does it measure to Watchmen, at least in terms of how deep the story goes?
never read Watchmen. what is that?
It's an excellent graphic novel that deserves your time.
I like Johnny The homocidal Maniac
it makes me smile!
Well slap ma' paw and pull ma' tail...
oh and my lady friend got me this for xmas:

What is it? Hmmh hmmmh hmm DEAD?
it's the first 24 issues of The Walking Dead, hardcover.
What's THE WALKING DEAD? Romero affiliated?
it's a horror series by Image. no romero affiliation. The romero comic was Toetags, which sucked.
Im reading 3 books right now and theyre all pretty good- Im reading Invisible Mosnters and am halfway through (how sick was everyone when they found out what Felching is?), On the Road by Jack Kourack...its okay.. and Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs...he was on heroin when he wrote it so its all over the place -- it kind of reminds me of some of Palahniuk's books, has anyone else read it?
4 reals?
I'm reading PARASYTE! Its in the works for a live action film directed by Takashi Shimizu (of Ju-On fame) and I am so excited about that that I could just pee.

I didn't know it was a comic.
Ha!! I didn't have the heart to tell her she was in the wrong thread.

The board's free now? Nice.
Has anyone mentioned BLACK HOLE while I was away? Because if not I need to say you should all go purchase the hard cover and read it to death.

I am about halfway through four volumes of "The Walking Dead." I've never been a fan of comics or graphic novels, but a co-worker turned me onto TWD and I am hooked. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Im reading Squee, Johnny the homocidal maniac, preacher, the tragical comedy or comical tragedy of mr punch, and alot of online comics as well
Well slap ma' paw and pull ma' tail...
Eddie Campbell's FATE OF THE ARTIST is genious.
Also, everyone should start picking up MOUSE GUARD now - it has the magic of BONE but with more updated themes. Fantastic. I'd also suggest the new colored hardcover of LONE & LEVEL SANDS from Archaia, as well.
I'm putting together a new anthology, too. Upcoming CBR interview about it - I think it'll excite a lot of folks as far as who's in it. Called POSTCARDS, I'll be sure to talk it up when the CBR feature goes up.

(DC VERTIGO) Loveless - A Kin Of Homecoming
Syrup
Rumble Young Man Rumble
All Star Superman
All Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder
Nextwave
Astonishing X-Men
Nextwave is Warren Ellis' newest Marvel comic and it's great. It's like an action packed reality tv show. It's a bunch of b-league superheroes and it's really damn funny. Lots of 'splosions, lots of laughs. It's great.
All Star Batman... has maybe become my FAVORITE of this list in a few short months, even though it comes out so late... I didn't even have high hopes for it but it's just so over the top and rediculous... it's trying so hard to put on a mean face and be taken seriously and THAT'S what makes it so good. It's getting the "Serious" comics market AND the "humor" comics audience.
Astonishing X-Men is awesome. Probably the BEST mainstream comic out today. True to the roots of the X-Men yet still fresh and surprising. And the art and writing is just so perfect.
All Star Superman. Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely making a 12 issue Superman story. If you're into comics AT ALL, you'd be a fool NOT to get this.
TPBs... Last ones I got were...
Seaguy
Transmetropolitian Vol. 1
Seaguy's by Morrison once again and it's very...dense. A second reading at the very least is a must. I think the subtext can work on SO MANY levels though that you could think about this ALL DAY. Can't wait for the eventual sequals.
Transmetropolitian is Warren Ellis' Vertigo maxi-piece and even though I honestly don't care for Derrick Robertson's artwork, I DO like Ellis' future gonzo journalist and his records of the future. I need to get more.
If you're into comics, do yourself a favor and type in 'scans daily' in google, click on the first result and you'll go to the scans daily page where people where post a few pages from new comics, keep teh interwub community up to speed.
invisible monsters
got my old comic box out of the closet and started re-reading Kingdom Come and The Sandman: The Wake again
I'm gonna spend three hours reading Batman: No Man's Land monday.
I reread book seven of the Hush story. I think it is, anyway. Batman is all "I'm gonna kill joo, Joker." and Commisioner Gordon goes, like, "Nu-uh, sucka." I'm gonna be just like James Gordon!
Well, except for my wife getting killed and my daughter getting crippled and molested by the same guy.
I AM MARRIED
