Same Cops in Every Background
What do you guys think of this? I think it's weird...

lol Sorry.
But how do you think that happens? Because those cops don't even look like cliche cops or anything.
This is really quite odd. There has to be some kind of explanation though, surely? Maybe it's an artist's joke?
It's different artists over different companies even. DC and Marvel.
Yeah I was reading the comments on the thread. I find it hard to believe there isn't something deeper at work here, it can't be a coincidence, the characters are practically identical. And they don't even look like cops!
I agree!
We need to use the powers of the cult to get to the bottom of this!
I wonder if there are some sort of auxiliary staff that worked at Marvel and then switched to DC at some point, and or vice versa. Something easily explainable like that. Or, maybe Marvel was doing it first, DC saw it, realized you can't really copyright background characters, and copied it. Whatever the case, I don't think it's coincidence.
Comic book version of Wilhem Scream?
This is why we can't have nice things.
Maybe the hipsters found a time machine but they could only travel through comics in animated form....MINDBLOWN
Maybe it's an inside joke amongst a few artists (the artists could have turned two comic creators who they're friends with into cops). Or it could be something zeitgeist-y. Also sometimes comic artists copy another artist's artwork out of laziness. For instance: http://www.cracked.com/article_18984_6-comic-book-easter-eggs-that-stuck...
Sort of reminds me of Chris Isaac and Keifer Sutherland in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me,except for the stupid facial hair (which is fashionable amongst comic creators).
It's not that weird. Most of those examples were from Ultimate Spider-Man. Not all, but still. Enough that this is humorous and not freaky.
Comic artists tend to all know each other and float from company to company. If I had to guess, they are 2 guys that a few artists started tossing in there that was in their circle of friends, co-workers, pizza boys, etc.. Now it's probably just an inside joke for them.
Also, it is way easier to just draw in the same 2 guys every time you need filler people in a frame than it is to come up with distinct appearances.

Well thanks for freaking me out, Pete.
