Postcards (Pekar, Hester, Beland, Kindt and more)
I hope you don't mind if I shine a little light on this anthology I'm putting together.
Comic Book Resources publishes the first of a series of features on POSTCARDS, a 168-page anthology I'm producing for 2007 release. Go check it out. It'll feature Harvey Pekar & Matt Kindt, Phil Hester, Tom Beland and more creators soon to be announced.
Hope you all enjoy.

Thank you much!
Now it's on to Volume II - gotta love the financial stability of a franchise book...

Looks good
although a baseball-themed graphic novel sounds even more interesting
they never have any cool sports comics

I'd also have to mention Golem's Mighty Swing. Maybe not as cool as Superpro but, you know...
There's also plenty of fantastic sports-themed manga available. There was even a baseball series in the 70s that I never seem to find. I don't even know if it was translated.

We have a lot of promotion lined up for next month since that's when the book solicits in Previews, the catalog all of the comic shops buy from.
You'll even have a chance to win one of the pages from Stuart Moore and Michael Gaydos' story. Should be fun.

I bought Superpro #1 when I was a kid and I was sure that it was going to be the comic to make me a rich man someday.

i saw the ad for it in previews (the one that came out last week or so), but not the actual solicitation? is it in the books or comics section? what publisher?
i first caught wind of it because of the beland contribution, but i'm intrigued with the whole thing now.

In the recent Previews? That's weird - we were in April's Previews. The order # was APR074039.

thanks for the order code, i'll make sure my boss has it on order.
Man, I let this thread die. The book came out on the 24th. SO far it's been in Daily Candy, USA Today, LA Times, Washington Post, Ain't It Cool News, Washington City Paper, Bookslut, DCist, Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, etc...there's a full list of reviews here.
Also, I launched another blog for POSTCARDS-related stuff as well as some other projects I'm working on.

I wanted to revisit this with some new info. The book's coming out June 2007, I recently sold it to an unannounced publisher. In addition to Harvey Pekar (American Splendor), Phil Hester (Green Arrow, The Wraith), and Tom Beland (True Story, Swear to God) the book will feature work from Michael Gaydos (Alias, Pulse), Stuart Moore (Founding editor of Vertigo and Marvel Knights, writer on Firestorm, Wolverine, etc), Rick Spears & Rob G (Teenagers from Mars, Detective Comics), Ande Parks (Capote in Kansas, Union Station), Antony Johnston (Queen & Country, Wasteland), Joshua Hale Fialkov and Noel Tuazon from Elk's Run, Neil Kleid (X-Men Unlimited, Brownsville) & Jake Allen (Brownsville), Robert Tinnell (The Wicked West), and plenty more folks.
It’s been fun putting it together but production’s winding down and we’ll be finished within the next week or so.
I have a blog going for the book (http://blog.myspace.com/AllYouLeave), full website will be up-and-running by the end of the year.
