i REALLY wanna read Sin City
Now, where should I start?
I've been wanting to read 'em for a longgg time now and finally decided to go out and begin.
dude, you clearly have money to burn, go to a store, a comic book store and grab whatever they have. Chances are they are not gonna have them all and they are only like thirteen bucks each, you spend more than that on yer damn twill jeans whatever the fuck that is and this shit is so much better. Just grab whatever they have, you can start with one, and then take it with you, and go to a bar and pull up a barstool and order a beer and read the damn thing in one sitting, and then sit there for a minute and reflect on the awesome story you just took in, not to mention the beautiful wimmins and artwork in general, and then finish yer beer, tip the bartender well, and go right back to the comic book store and buy whatever else thay have. If you don't have a comic book store near you, just let me know and I will HOOK YOU UP.

That poster rocks.
I read somewhere that they are using dialogue from the books verbatum and that rodriguez is setting up the shots exactly like the panels which is why Frank Miller is getting a directing credit for it.
But start on the books and enjoy.
yeah and the entire thing is being filmed in front of a green screen and the 'look' of the comics is being added in post-production.
also, it has one of themost allstar casts assembled in years.
The cast is awesome.
I wonder if the all star cast ensemble will detract from the story. as much as I love the cast and Rodriguez, man, I don't know, kinda show off-y

I just read Sin City, That yellow bastard, A dame to kill for, Big fat kill.
Great stuff.* I can't wait for the movie, especially with the cast they have.
*understatement
The Hard Goodbye
The Big Fat Kill
The Yellow Bastard
A Dame To Kill For
Are coming out with a 2nd edition. Brand New Cover, tad bit cheaper price, but same great stories.

You can read 'em in any order. Some characters who have a lead in a 'shot', come back as minor characters in other 'shots'.
I say read 'The Hard Goodbye' (the main Marv story) and 'That Yellow Bastard'. I never really dug the stories with Dwight.
Hay. I just read them in Boarders XD
Also, <3<3<3 to PCJ for lending me That Yellow Bastard.
I WONDAR IF NICK STAHL WHO PLAYS THAT YELLOW BASTARD WILL HAVE TO HAVE HIS PENIS OUT BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE BOOK AND WILL IT HAVE TO BE PAINTED YELLOW XD

I wonder how they'll cover Hartigan removing Junior of his "weapons"?

I was thinking of that too, and I'm guessing it will be shown the first time and implied the second time, but yellow blood spurting everywhere is to be assured in the second scenario.
Thats what I was thinking too. I read somewhere that Rodriguez planed on using different coloured blood (among other things) to get around the censors, but still leave the content unedited.
White colored for everyone else, yellow for the bastard. Either way I'm hoping this movie tops Kill Bill 1 in terms of spectacle of violence on screen.
That could well be possible, especially if they capture what Marv does to Kevin just right.

I just read the first Sin City book and now I understand what you mean. The only thing I'm confused about though is the timeline between Yellow Bastard, Big Fat Kill, and Sin City?
It goes:
That Yellow Bastard - Sin City - Big Fat Kill
I think so anyway, I've only thumbed through Big Fat Kill. But the timelines continually jump back and forth so favourite characters who die can re-appear again.
How did you rate the the first Sin City?
I thought it was great Frank Miller as usual, my second favorite, I still like 'That Yellow Bastard' the best so far; even though Marv is my favorite character now. What Kevin did to Lucille and all those other girls and the whole thing with the priest made me sick to my fucking stomach but I thought that was still really clever and original and the ending was great. Big Fat Kill is very enjoyable, but somewhat predictable near the end and somewhat straight forward in terms of story, still great and bloody violent nonetheless. And to restate the obvious...this movie is going to be amazing and the DVD is going to fucking rock.
I hope it will be good. I'm trying to not hype it up for myself.
I cant wait for this movie, its going to be amazing. QT is directing part of it, and one of my favorite actors is in it woohoo, MICKY!!!
I don't know if this was posted yet or not, or if this is even the right section of the forum to post it but here it is....
