It's pretty good. But there are better surrealistic anime out there... Serial Experiments Lain for example, or Shoujo Kakumei Utena.

My first glimps of this show was late on Adult Swim one night. It was half way through the episode and a robot was coming out of this kids head...I was intrigued, to say the least. I dl the series and I think it's really good. Kind of spastic and erratic, but it's good for a change in pace in anime that takes itself too seriously, ex: Serial Experiments Lain. My favorite part of the entire series is that girl's bass, how she starts it like a lawnmower. When I first saw that, I was hooked.
Great music throughout also.

So, what do you guys think the symbolism represents in the episode where Naota has to swing the bat at the hurtling meteor?

i remember in that one, someone says 'nothing can happen until you swing the bat.' i took it to mean nothing can happen until stand up and do something and make it happen. like stop being such a pacifist or something. i need to watch the whole thing again though. someone should send it to me. (manic, i'm looking in your general direction.)

the DVD's are so expensive! ALso, what is Fooly Cooly?

it's actually furi kuri. fooly cooly is the clever 'poke fun at asian accents' way to say it i think. i looked on the adult swim site and there's no schedule for more FLCL so i have to get the dvd, even though i don't have a dvd player yet either. someone should send me one of those, too. (lovely, i'm looking in your general direction...)

It's basically about two freinds named Sasshi and Arumi who get transported to an alternate dimension. This show is so hilarious! They make fun of every genre of anime and TV show our there!

Hell no. My dad works at a refinery and mows lawns for old ladies as a side job. But because we work so hard we can afford DVD players. But pretty much we don't have a lot.

i live in houston, but only for another month or so, then it's off to san antonio. and that anime looks great too. let me guess, only on dvd right?
oh, and my friend's brother works at a refinery and makes $45 an hour, so don't give me that excuse.

how many episodes are in the FLCL series and does anyone know where I can get a download of them? I downloaded 2 episodes rom a torrent on [url]www.suprnova.org[/url] but for some reason I need an FF audio codec to get the sound to work, it's annoying without any sound, any help?

i found FLCL on adult swim one night, and it was the coolest thing ever. they only show about 6 episodes on adult swim, but i think there are more than that somewhere out there. my brother said that there were a lot more episodes but they got banned for too much adult material or something. whatever the case, i need to find the entire series of FLCL so i can have a new obsession.

The music is done by a band called "The Pillows" i think they are coming out with a new album this year or something. The FLCL manga is short as hell though 2 vol. and thats it, i like the anime series better though.

I have the manga. After all there are only two volumes. The art is really unidue. I think it was drawn with a bamboo brush, but who knows. The artist is Hajime Ueda. I've never heard of him but I would like to see more of his work.

So which manga artists do you like? I like Miki Aihara, Utatane Hiroyuki, Keisuke Fujishima, and Hiroaki Samura. I like others too but I can't think of them right now.,......

I'm new to manga and anime, so I don't know many.

This is quite possibly the greatest anime I have ever seen. I am just not sure if it's really that insane or it's supposed to be metaphoric. The Pillows also make it the most kick ass soundtrack I have ever heard.
