Right, I just started to buy comic books, and I decided to get something for mature readers. Picked up Fury on Marvel Max. So far I've read #1-#3. Pretty good thus far. Now I'm wondering if anyone else is into mature comic books. If so, which series would you recommend?

I'm gonna get Preacher off of Vertigo this Thursday. Comic book guy at the comic shop told me it was good, so I'm gonna go by his word.

Also, what's the etiquette at comic book shops? Can you read through the comic books a little, or must you absolutely buy them first?

Bondage Faeries is weird.
Battle Royale is decent, but if you've seen the movie it's shit.
I'll have to go with Spawn on this one.

Battle Royal? Spawn?
are we talking Mature as in blood and violence or mature as in nekkid drawn boobies?

I'm thinking both. Anything that can't be sold to kids under 17.

According to imdb.com, the movie is in pre-production, so I'm guessing that it will be done.

Any decent comic book shop will let you browse, but when it comes to sealed up back issues they may not want you to get too involved. They've got to make a buck.

Also, most comic book shops are run and staffed by comic book nerds who read all of it. If you tell them the sort of thing you're after, be prepared for them to come up with six titles that are all up your alley.
