My geeky friends and I still play Magic, even though we are eighteen (yeah I know. Not exactly the coolest kids in town) So I was wondering if anyone else here has gotten addicted to Magic, or any other card game.

Absolutely, we used to play Magic all the time, I loved it. Somewhere back at my parents house I still have a box of cards, but I can't remember how to play at all, let alone construct and use a good deck ... seems like I remember having fun with a red/blue deck. Oh, and the artwork was always amazing ...

... your name makes me think of you as the Draco Malfoy, and the kid that played him in the movies.

For Christ's sake, you're eighteen! Get those cards sold! I mean yeah, I've been addicted to that shit too (Star Wars Cards) but that was in 5th grade. You are an adult.

i went with a friend into one of these role-playing gamer stores. this is not to brag, but merely to illustrate the fact that the young men in this shop had clearly not seen female genitalia since birth, and i tell you, you could hear a pin drop. i could barely breathe, it was so tense... just stares...

weird.

We have one of those rooms in the basement of the comic book store. It's quite weird yeah. There's a big staircase leading to the basement and once I kinda hunched down and turned my head sideways and looked in and saw them all sitting and playing. I never went down those stairs. It's like... who knows maybe it's really fun and all and then I might end up sitting there everyday too.

Yeah right.

i went into one of those specialty game stores looking for the simpsons monopoly game for someones birthday and it wasfull of little kids crowded around the tables playing (pokemon??) cards. and just being there hurt my head, and made me feel so much less like a loser.

so if you ever need to feel better about yourself find one.
if you ever need a 4-player chess board, find one.

I was using Draco Delacroix before HP came out. That's because Draco in Latin means 'dragon' and Delacroix in French means 'of the cross'. I'm not religious, but I find the image of a huge dragon strung up by it's bleeding wings is verypowerfull.

It's not so much as oogling when a girl comes in a place like that, it's more of a "what the hell are you doing here?" Kind of look. In places like that, if you're not a regular, people don;t usually like you being there during the first couple of minutes. the same thing happens if a jock walks in. We're all just like "wtf? Don't you have a football game to lose?"

Wtf? WHY DONT YOU HAVE A PENIS?

?

Draco, you say when jocks come in they are confused. But what about us normal people, not jocks, not dimwits, not idiots, just normal people who dont like magic cards, what do they do when they come in? What do you guys think when they come in and give that wide eyed stare?

Hey! What's wrong with being a virgin? I mean adults playing card games and talking about goblins and dragons and power and mana is sorta... (I can't find the right word right now but it's kinda like the opposite of groovy.) And the two have nothing in common. Or at least not much. Ok, if you play cards all day long and dont go out at nights you might get sex much harder, but if you just play some cards a few afternoons a week and otherwise look good, you probably won't have any problems at all. Virginality isn't really that significant...

What I said was if you're not a regular, it takes a while to get accepted. usually you have to play a game or have a conversation first. Let us get a feel if you actually like being there and if you fit in. I, in no way, meant that we shun everybody else. Hell, there are some "cool" people that go there all the time even though they're not exactly geeks (they are playing Magic though, so you know they're a little geeky). I don't know. We just need a chance to get to know you. Untill then we just look at you weird expecting you to either insult us or say you walked in by accident.

Draco Malfoy is the best thing about harry potter. Is it tom felton that plays him? anyway, back to magic. I had an ex tha tried to show me a trick with balls in macdonalds. I was very embarrased to say the least

I know that what you said wasn't serious. I haven't seen one post from you that was serious by now so I don't expect much real conversation anyway. I just used your post to state my opinion on virginity cause I felt like doing so. And you know, that post of yours, jockingly implying I'm taking all this way to serious - hilarious stuff man.

jeez man.

Whats wrong with you?

Just chill out. If you want to make a statement abotu virginity, make a thread about it, or a topic and go from there. You seem to get pissed off alot.
Somebody makes fun of your spelling or grammar.. "They just do it to me because I am Bulgarian".. or maybe they are just kidding with you? Somebody brings up virginity "Blah blah blah... doesnt mean virginity is important. And yeah, I agree with you, on what you said. Who cares if you are a virgin or not, its a personal choice. I know some geeks who have gotten laid, and some popular kids who havent, it really doesnt matter. Popularity, geekdom, who gives a shit right? But just chill out. We are all here for a good time, not a long time right? So have a good time, because the sun wont shine everyday.

I had a stack of magic cards lying at work next to me and all I did was have a friend who works the booth next to the store i'm working in come in with a plain deck of cards and we played rum and gin to kill the time. Far more entertaining than spending money on a pack and deck of cards you are only going to end up updating two months later when a new set comes out and so on and so on.

I love how different types of nerds like to look down on other types of nerds. I mean, we're on an internet forum here, you're (we're) all nerds as far as i'm concerned, oh but you're so much less cool if you play some card game.
Always thought it was more fun to play with starters than spend a bunch of time and money making a deck that will just get beat by some kid that spent a lot more time and money than you.
Oh. I've played dungeons and dragons too. what.

Yeah, even though me and my friends play magic we looked down on anyone who played Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh. And then L5R came out and everyone looked down on me for not playing it, but the reason why I didn't play it was because it just wasn't fun. All L5R games that I witnessed was one person shouting at the other "you can't do that during that phase" and then the other getting all pissy and then the two not talking for a few days.
Ah, geeks arguing. Nothing quite like it.

For awhile My Retard was into Magic and I played a game with him because I hadn't played the game since I was eight, and it was complete crap. He played Dungeons and Dragons, too, and that I refused to try. I think in order to play that game you have to be a genuine 100% nerd to the core, and I disagree entirely with your theory that anyone (with a computer? The Internet?) here is a geek.
