Money from movies
As long as Palahniuk is selling his stories to Hollywood, might I offer a bit of casting advice? If "Haunted" is ever "pitched" to the Big-Wigs, please hire Iggy Pop to portray Saint Gut-Free. I can imagine no one else.
Good call on Mr. Rockwell in "Choke" the movie.
he's kinda old though. did they even have swimming pools back in his day?
They need a cast no one's ever heard of for that.
I've been thinking of Haunted as an HBO miniseries, and you just can't put Guts onto film. Even if it was good, it is a text story, there's no changing that.

i've been saying since it came out it should be an HBO mini series. it's just perfect for one. in fact, i think a lot of Chuck's stuff lately would actually make a better movie than it did as a book.
Guts can be put into film. Anything can if you got someone creative enough doing it.
What I mean is, you can put it to film, but it wouldn't be guts, it would be a film about a kid getting his intestine sucked out. Like, all the emotions of Guts could be rechanneled, but not captured.

That's for sure true. I think that happens a lot in stories that become movies. I always get pissed off when they screw that up... But I suppose it's impossible to truly capture the feelings that people had when reading it.

it's impossible because everyone is going to have different reactions and feelings to something they read. They're not going to be able to film something thats' gonna make people pass out from just watching it.
You can look away from a screen. To have read a story, you must absorb the words.
