"Guts" in new Final Destination movie
wasn't sure where to post this but I have seen commercials for the new final destination movie in 3-D (The Final Destination), and there seems to be a scene where one of the kid's butt gets sucked to the bottom of a pool. Seemed like a pretty obvious reference to guts to me...anyone else catch this?

See people die...in 3-D!
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
Firstly, he didn't really copy Palahniuk because you can't copy a copyist. Secondly, looks like the dude dies from electrocution and not from pool-eating-bowels. C) Final Destinations are sweet. I mean, the fact that they can make all these mousetrap deaths is utter brilliance. And 4) 3D is the best thing to happen to horror movies ever.
a ) Yes you can...
b ) i believe he meant it's a reference to Palahniuk, rather than him being copied.
c )... you mean bowel-eating pool?
When the last living thing Has died on account of us, How poetical it would be If Earth could say, In a voice floating up Perhaps From the floor Of the Grand Canyon, "It is done. People did not like it here"
Keep your stick on the ice.
What's funny is that when I saw the trailer for the first time the first thing I thought when I saw the guy in the pool was "Guts". I don't doubt that it was inspired by Palahniuk directly, but I'm guessing it was inspired as far as good taste would allow the makers of a teen horror movie to go. I'm guessing that if and when a big screen adaptation of Haunted it'll be considerably more visceral. I mean it should be. I mean it better be.
Not that I'm some kind of sicko living in a shack out in the woods with numerous stuffed animals to keep me company. Just that it would probably be more in the spirit of the book to be visceral.
Meh.
If this was intentional, then you are awesome.
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
after seeing the full preview and seeing the electric object falling into the pool, I am not as sure they were inspired by guts. The clip was much shorter in the commercial I saw. Oh well...interesting at least.

LOL. I wish it was intentional. I go to such lengths to make myself appear intelligent and there I go screwing up the key word.
Meh.

Wait a minute, visceral, was intended, the omission of the words "gets made" was not. I'm such a dummy.
Meh.
I can definitely see how this could be a reference to Guts. If i remember correctly, in the story the boy is wearing yellow striped swimming shorts, as is the boy in the trailer for Final Destination
B.C.
3D is probably the worst thing to happen to horror movies. It's stupid and pointless. and Final Destination is not even a horror movie, its more of a thriller

So no one on this thread has seen Final Destination 3D? Well here's what happens...
The guy's lucky quarter falls in the pool and sinks to the bottom where a filter hole is. The man then jumps in to get it. However off screen the pump goes haywire and the suction increases dramatically. The man finds his quarter but gets his bottom stuck to the vent because of the dramatic suction. When this happens, for what ever reason, the suction only gets stronger. After about a minute of the man making pained expressions you see the pump blow up next to the pool and there are guts and other assorted organs flying into the air.
Then to add dramatic effect the quarter lands on the debris.
Really, you guys never saw this movie? Horror movies, no matter how bad, are still awesome! In fact the worse the better! What ever happened to the good old fashion slasher movie where people just die for the sake of a creative death.
The Final Destination movies are awesome in that aspect because it's sole purpose is to out do each sequential death. Anyone see the second with the kid in the dentist office? SPLAT!!! Ha ha!
I've never read haunted but now I'm curious...
Its in 1000 ways to die too
