Wow. Just wow. I'm not forming my "just wow" based on any op-ed piece, either. I just read the entire Republican Party of Texas 2012 Platform.
I live in Alabama, though, so I stopped being shocked by these kinds of things years ago. At the end of the day, no matter what the public school system is or isn't teaching my kids, it's up to me to be aware of it and then continue to educate/raise my kids as I see fit. We discuss curriculum (and supplement it where necessary) all the time, and that's how it should be in every household.
