WAR or PEACE?
George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld have both said that a Saddam EXILE would be "Welcome..." so they don't even want war, they just want him to be honest or to be gone.
Myself personally would rather see him dead. But, I don't know the exact rules of exile. I would like some enlightenment in that area. What's to stop him from raising forces and taking control of another group of people? Or going back to Iraq? Or building a terrorist cell? Sorry so many questions.

glad you pointed that out, william.
for the record, saddam is a dictator, but president bush is a dickhead. i find all the stupid rhetoric about "liberating" "oppressed peoples" sickening and an insult to everyone's intelligence. it's all about the oil baby. if we really wanted to fight terrorism, we might start by asking our butt buddies in saudi arabia a few pointed questions. and if we really wanted to knock maniacal, nuclear-capable dictators out of power, we might pay just a bit more attention to north korea.
that's just my opinion.

[B]Another quick question: If you war-hawks are so quick to support this war and talk about how great it is, why haven't you enlisted? I guess its fun to talk about how cool war is from your couch in your living room, while watching cnn.
I read an article in the NY Times yesterday that interviewed members of the military and it pointed out that there is a large portion of the military that is unsure why GWB is sending them over to fight in Iraq. I'm out of the Marine Corps, with a minor medical discharge (knee problems). I've made phone calls and sent letters to be re-enlisted. I just have to wait for an O.K. to go back in. And for the record I don't think I said that war was great, just said it was needed at this time.
