Trivializing Human Trafficking with Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
Looks like it cost about $50 to shoot, too. So nice of them to dedicate such time, money and effort to the cause.
That's got to be some kind of gag. It doesn't even make any sense any other way. What is the connection between doing laundry and child sex slaves? Why do they go to the trouble of showing pictures of those other dudes? And then Ariana Huffington;s name pops up from some other woman talking about her? It's almost surreal in it's absurdity.
The real crime here though is that ashton kutcher has the balls to even get his name in the same whiff of air as Ford, Willis or Selleck.
Unfortunately it's legit. They even started their own foundation.

But yeah, it's the one and only time anyone's referred to Ashton Kutcher as a real man.
Also, is that a picture of Justin Timberlake in the back, with the shaving cream on his face? Ugh.
And, No, a real man does NOT do his own laundry. He'll do it out of desperation if there's no one else to do it, but that's something for the wimminfolk and the kids to do.

Maybe they're trying to get attention for it with the sheer asshattery of it and then hoping once they've got people's attention, then they'll donate whatever.
I hate that kind of shit though. I see something like that and it makes me want to promote child sex slaves just because of how stupid they are.
That clip is a really bad example. I'm pretty sure the main focus of the campaign is 'Real men don't buy girls'. Perhaps that video was a bad idea, but it's not as simple as all that. And at least they're doing something. Attempting to bring attention to a horrible problem with the power of celebrity.
The point is they're doing it in a completely self-serving way. Campaign and donate all you want, but don't make yourself the main focus and the message an afterthought. It cheapens the cause as well as the work of dedicated people and organisations.
Yeah, I understand. I looked at some of the other videos, and it seems a bit silly. Now I'm not sure how to feel about it.
Also my husband just posted this on my facebook wall, and he's totally right:
Right, because only someone who subscribes to that obsolete, arrogant, macho bullshit (created at a time when we were told the only "real men" were anglo-saxon btw) would have the moral sense required to avoid imprisoning a child. Last I checked, many of the Joseph Fritzl's of the world have such an inflated sense of alpha-male bravado that they believe they can do anything they want, including raping a naturally "weaker" child.
The Demi and Ashton foundation? Wow. The commercials look bad.
I wonder if that Fritzl guy did his own laundry.
Having other people do it would be too risky.
Didn't he make her clean his house naked or something? I'm sure she was doing his laundry too.
This is a less ridiculous commercial than that laundry one:

BWAHAHAHA
What a terrible campaign.
