The Visa Check Card - Because Money Shouldn't Slow You Down
I know these commercials are a little old, but I'm still seeing them, and I just have to say that they make me sick. I was so pissed off the first time I saw the commercial (of course, no one understood my frustration... I need new friends...)
In case you haven't seen them, they involve merchandise stores and diners moving with mechanical precission as people rush through the lines, paying with their check cards. One person stops to pay with cash, and the system crumbles. I mean, really, this is what some guy in a suit came up with to get people to open a bank account? If people seriously start acting like that, I'm moving to a farm and keeping all my money in a shoe box under the floor boards. Those commercials disgust me.

i completely understand. i hate how the cashier always glares at the cash person. not to mention, everyone where you go, if you use a card of any kind you have to go through a million check points of signatures and pin numbers and checking IDs. it takes longer.
i'm a terrible person, in more ways than one.
My frustration is the obsession people have with "convenience." What is wrong about personal connection? Give the cashier cash, talk a bit while they're getting change. Or how about taking time to look around, try something new. These commercials promote people acting like machines, avoiding all luxury and humanity in order to get from one place to another faster, so as not to inconvinence others. It may not seem like a big deal to some people, but these are some of the worst commercials I have ever seen.

Man, someone's reading way to deep into this.
I love the convenience of my card. It allows me not to have to deal with people if I don't want too. It's not to say that I'm not a people person, because for the most part I am, but theres times when all you want to do is buy a bottle of Maker's Mark, a carrot and petroleum jelly and be on your way.

I don't understand your frustration.
