I love how she pardons the turkey using "librul" philosophy (due process, fair trial by jury of peers, etc).

At 2:59, the mustached turkey slayer definitely takes the turkeys legs and does an impromptu "wavey".

Or is it just me?

The really appalling turkey news of late isn't this at all, it's an undercover video from PETA showing truly horrible cruelty. We read in a New York Times piece: The scenes show stomach-turning brutality. Workers are seen smashing birds into loading cages like basketballs, stomping heads and breaking necks, apparently for fun, even pretending to rape one. On the tape, one worker describes losing his temper at a tom who pecked him, marking its head with a pen so he could find it again, fetching a broomstick, ramming it down the bird's gullet and holding it up in the air while shouting 'Let this be a lesson to y'all' at the rest of the flock.

The video on line at http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/turkey_investigation I do hope anybody considering eating turkey for Thanksgiving will watch it.

Article, Losing Your Appetite for Turkey?

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/25/losing-your-appetite-for-turkey...

It says that "food writer Kim Severson offers some non-turkey advice, suggesting wild salmon as the main course". I happen to have a recipe for wild salmon that I think is amazing that I used to enjoy when I was a pescetarian. Check it out,

I'm not watching it. I got my turkey from this farm:

http://www.diestelturkey.com/home.htm

(Not the farm itself, but Whole Foods Market)

You have my permission not to watch it. I guess I should have said, anyone eating factory farmed turkey should watch it.

That looks like a decent place. Yea Whole Foods. Too bad they're running into financial problems due to the bad economy. I was just at whole foods today getting ingredients for that taco recipe you posted a picture of. I just made it and it was excellent. I'll post a video shortly.

Yes, that's what you should have said, buster! But seriously I very much agree that no one should eat or support factory farmed turkeys. It's disgusting filthy meat, and horrifying how they are treated and slaughtered.

Looking forward to the video. I am off to clean the hell out of my house. Guests arriving tomorrow. Smile
