senate advances bill to allow home poker games in SC
one small step toward sanity...at least in SC, but it bodes well for retracting ban on online poker in america

“...There are so many ways of being despicable it quite makes one's head spin. But the way to be really despicable is to be contemptuous of other people's pain. You ought to have some apprehension that the man you see before you was once even younger than you are now and arrived at his present wretchedness by imperceptible degrees.”

And hooray for basement poker!
the problem is we cant even use outside sites, as it stands now. american banks are no longer allowed to process deposits, withdrawals, or checks which come from known poker sites. AND should our current law be retracted, it would shut down poker sites (such as full tilt) which did everything in their power to circumvent them.
in fact, they could go as far as charging people like chris furgeson with facilitation, because he appears on advertisements which encourage americans to break federal law.

Well then, what tack did uncle sam sit on?

i dont know. i mean say they charged a 10% tax on deposits, and say the minimum deposit is 20 bucks, that means for every deposit, there is theoretically a dollar at state, and a dollar at the federal level.
i dont see how this is bad for the country.

Do they have online scratch off games? I'm thinking about patenting them. It'll be some kind of flash deal where you got to run your cursor back and forth over the silver boxes on screen till it clears and tells you if you won or not.
not that im aware of, no. and those, as far as i know would not be sanctioned as they are totally random (supposedly)

We need to become more competitive with outside gambling sites. The only concerns I could see that would make online gambling an issue, is that money not going into our economy.
