Remember when Obaba closed Guntanamo?
Yeah, well that never happened. And it's not happening. The douchebag just signed a bill preventing 'terror' suspects from being able to have a trial on US soil.
"Gee, I really wish I could grant these terrorist suspects their civil rights and due process, but we gotta fund wars overseas, and that's expensive."
No joke. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110108/pl_nm/us_obama_guantanamo_detainees
How much longer will people tolerate this shit?
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
All hail Obama...you all loving, all unifying poster boy of mediocrity. Remember when everyone was swooning over how lovely he was for freeing the criminals? Yeah, can we now move on?
Life is like a walrus on a deserted beach.
I never really paid attention to it, but wasn't the whole thing more of a "We're not going to keep sending suspects there anymore" type of closing it down?
They weren't going to close the whole thing down were they? Guantanamo Bay has been a base there for years and years before they started using it as a holding pen.
It's weird though. The more Gig rages against the machine (tm), the less I give a damn about anything at all. I don't know if the two are related ore coincidental.
Also. Waiter, there's a noob in my soup!
This is why we can't have nice things.

^ all of this. including the soup issue.
except for the mention of ore. I don't think there is any metal involved.

The supposed idea back in 09 when the media lauded him for 'beginning to close Gitmo' was that people would be moved out of it and it would no longer function as a prison.
Then there were a bunch of private prison corporations lobbying towns to fund them and they'd lobby the feds for the contract to house the POWs.
As of now, its no closer to being closed than it was then. Obama can roll the printing presses out to fund the wars and torture, but the civil rights part of it? Maybe if you just pay more taxes, we can afford the due process thing...
How weird is it anyway that its a crime for someone from the US to even be in Cuba, yet the gov't has a secret military prison there, on the island of supposed enemies. Critical thinking indicates this taken for granted US privilege is at the very least unprecedented by gov'ts considered not megalomaniacal.

Don't antagonize the noobs. Hello, whyamihere.

lol
I don't think i've paid taxes in 5 years.
I did them last year and I paid out around 400 bucks all year and got back around 1,200!
Gig, you need to lighten up. Why not come in GD and talk about old cartoons and stuff with us.

that's where the important stuff is being discussed.
